Set Up My Resources

The vertical segment, My Resources, lists all the assets and Configuration Items (CI) assigned to the user. As an administrator, you must configure My Resources, for it to be displayed in Service Point.

The vertical segment,
My Resources
, lists all the assets and Configuration Items (CI) assigned to the user. As an administrator, you must configure My Resources, for it to be displayed in Service Point.
The following predefined attributes are available for every asset and CI:
Asset Tag, Name, DNS Name, Host Name, Mac Address, and Serial Number
. Based on the organizational requirements, an administrator can create custom attributes for an asset and CI.
How to create custom object attribute
In case the predefined object attributes are not sufficient or do not match your environment, you can create custom object attributes.
Follow these steps:
  1. Log in to CA SDM as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to the
    Administration
    tab, select
    xFlow Interface
    , and
    Object Attributes
    .
  3. Click
    Create New
    .
  4. Complete the fields as appropriate:
    1. Object Type
      Set the type as
      Configuration Item
    2. Attribute Name
      Name of the attribute.
    3. Status
      Current state of the attribute, such as active or inactive.
    4. Attribute Value
      The majic level object attribute.
    5. (Optional)
      Show in Streams
      Select the
      Show in Streams
      check box to display the attribute in work streams rule list.
    6. (Optional)
      Show in Attributes
      Select the
      Show in Attributes
      check box to display the attribute on the Ticket Details page.
  5. Click
    Save
    .
How to display attributes
Two (2) attributes are displayed under
My Resources
section for every asset and CI assigned to the business user. The following steps explain how you can select those two attributes.
Follow these steps:
  1. Log in to CA SDM as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to the
    Administration
    tab, select
    xFlow Analyst Interface
    ,
    Service Point
    , and
    Configurations.
  3. Select a configuration from the configuration list.
  4. Navigate to the
    My Resources Attributes
    tab.
  5. Click
    Create New
    .
  6. Complete the fields as appropriate:
    1. Active
      Set the state of the attribute, such as active or inactive.
    2. Configuration Item Attribute
      Click the magnifier icon to search for an attribute from the Object Attribute List.
    3. First Field?
      Represents the order in which the attribute appears for the CI in Service Point.
  7. Click
    Save.
