Prerequisites and Considerations
Review and verify the upgrade prerequisites and planning consideration for the following
CA Service Management
products:
If you are planning to upgrade a product that is integrated and configured with Active Directory, ensure to create the
CasmAdmin
user and
OpenSpaceAdminGroup
before upgrading to
CA Service Management
17.3. Associate the
CasmAdmin
to
OpenSpaceAdminGroup
in the Active Directory.
Insights - Aggregate Reports are currently supported only on Microsoft SQL Server Database and not on Oracle Database.

CA SDM supports upgrades from r12.9, 14.1x, and 17.x versions. 
If you are on an older version of CA SDM, prior to r12.9, and are planning to upgrade to
CA Service Management
17.3, it is recommended that you first upgrade to 14.1 and then, follow the upgrade process for
CA Service Management

If you are upgrading CA Asset Portfolio Manager from an earlier release to 17.3, the changes you made to configuration files from an earlier release are not automatically merged with
CA Service Management
17.3. Refer to the backup files located in the
%Temp%\ITAM
directory and manually merge these changes with the current installed version.
How to Upgrade
Launch the
CA Service Management
installer on the systems/servers that you want to upgrade. The installer automatically detects the installed
CA Service Management
version in your environment and upgrades it to 17.3.

Integrations
Integrations After completing the upgrade process, perform integration to integrate one or more CA Service Management products in your environment. For example, you can integrate CA Service Desk Manager with CA Service Catalog. For more information see,  Integrate CA Service Management Solution.
