™ Cumulative Patch 8.3.5.5 includes the following:
CA Business Service Insight 8.3.5.5 patch is not supported on Oracle 11g or Oracle 12c databases.
  • Windows 2019 with Oracle 19c certification: To install the CA BSI Application/Web Server on Windows Server 2019, establish tns connection to the Oracle 19c database server. and install BSI 8.3.5.5.
  • Windows 2019 certification (Only): To install CA BSI Application/Web Server on Windows server 2019, connect to Oracle 12c server and perform the installation procedures. Use CA BSI 8.3.5 and cumulative patch BSI 8.3.5.4.
Installation Prerequisites
Verify and complete the following prerequisites before proceeding with
CA Business Service Insights
™ Cumulative Patch 8.3.5.5 installation:
  • (Optional) If you have not updated your Windows Server, update it to support COM+ and .Net framework 4.7.
  • Oracle 19c server (
    WINDOWS.X64_193000_db_home
    ) software must be installed on the database server.
    BSI database is installed on the Oracle 19c server.
  • Oracle 19c client 32-bit (NT_193000_client) software must be installed on CA BSI Web/Application server. Download the Oracle 19c 32-bit client patch (
    p31247621_190000_WINNT.zip)
    from Oracle Software Downloads.
  • Odac 19.3 client 32-bit (
    ODAC193Xcopy_32bit
    ) software must be installed on the Web/Application server.
  • VC_redist.x86 software must be installed on CA BSI Web/Application server. Navigate to where you have downloaded CA BSI 8.3.5.5, VC_redist.x86 is located in BSI_8.3.5.5_CumulativePatch, Prerequisites folder.
  • Restart your servers.
It is recommended that you restart your servers after installing the prerequisites, Cloud_Insight_Server_8.3.5.exe, and CA BSI 8.3.5.5. Download and extract the CA Business Service Insight™ Cumulative Patch 8.3.5.5 (8.3.5.5.zip) from Broadcom Support.
CA BSI Database Migration
Database template to support Oracle 19c is in BSI_8.3.5.5_CumulativePatch folder location: \PreRequisites\oblicore.dbt. InstallDB is packaged along with this patch (BSI_8.3.5.5_CumulativePatch).
Use \DatabaseServer_Oracle19c\Setup\InstallDB folder to install the database manually.
  • Upgrade database: The standard set of instructions from the Oracle can be followed to migrate BSI database from the older Oracle versions to the newer versions.
  • Fresh installation of BSI database: Install the fresh BSI DB schema using the below instructions.
For more information about how to manually create the database, see Manually Create the Database.
Perform the following steps:
  1. From the location where you have downloaded
    BSI_8.3.5.5_CumulativePatch
    , navigate to the below patch folder:
    \DatabaseServer_Oracle19c\Setup\InstallDB
CA BSI Application/Web Server Installation
Since, CA BSI 8.3.5.5 provides Windows Server 2019 support, ensure that you do a fresh installation of CA BSI Application and Web Servers.
If you are installing BSI 8.3.5.5 for the first time, ensure to follow the instructions and installation procedures outlined in Implement CA Business Service Insight 8.3.5.5 on a Two-Tier Environment.
Installation Considerations
BsiAppPool is often created incorrectly and is not configured to support 32-bit applications. While installing CA BSI Web Server on Windows Server 2019, ensure that you configure BSI application pool for 32-bit in integrated mode.
  • Take the backup of the custom configuration files present in WWWRoot / AppServer installed folders from the existing servers to add any configurations explicitly after installing the BSI 8.3.5.5 in the new server.
  • Open the regedit and go to the folder location from the below key: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Oblicore\Install Data.
  • Backup file: Oblicore\web.config. Web.config file from Oblicore web root directory.
  • Backup file:
    Oblicore\ObliSync\API\Web.config
  • Copy the configuration files from the older BSI application server to a new/fresh server.
Consider and review the following before installing CA BSI 8.3.5.5:
  1. Install ODAC 19.3 32-bit client
  2. Install Oracle 19c 32-bit client as per your environment requirements.
  3. Oracle 19c 32-bit client as per your environment requirements. Install the Oracle 19c client patch as per the installation instructions provided in the patch readme file.
  4. Configure local net service name configuration pointing to the Oracle database server.
  5. Ensure that ORACLE_HOME environment path variable is pointing to the right Oracle client folder. Open regedit on web/application servers and access the below key to obtain the ORACLE_HOME value:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\ORACLE
  6. Ensure that TNS_ADMIN environment path variable is pointing to the right Oracle client installed network\admin folder in ORACLE_HOME\NETWORK\admin. The sequence of the path environment variables must be in this order, following any other variables:
    • ODAC193 folder path.
    • Odac193\bin.
    • Oracle client home bin path.
  7. Restart the system.
  8. Install the BSI application and restart machine.
  9. From where you have downloaded CA BSI 8.3.5.5, navigate to the folder: \AppWebServerInstaller\Server.
  10. Run the Cloud_Insight_Server_8.3.5 application. Third-party CD is in the \AppWebServerInstaller\3rdPartyCD folder.
  11. Run the CloudInsight 8.3.5_Client from the below folder: \AppWebServerInstaller\Client.
  12. Take the backup of the below files from the WWWRoot location:
    • Open the regedit and go to the folder location from the below key:
      Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Oblicore\Install Data.
      Backup file: Oblicore\web.config
    • Web.config
      file from Oblicore web root directory.
      Backup file: Oblicore\ObliSync\API\Web.config
    • Copy the configuration files from the older BSI application server to newer server.
  13. Restart the server.
CA BSI 8.3.5.5 Post-Installation Tasks
Manual intervention will be required when the patch is running the batch file. Click "Ok" for popups that are displayed while registering dlls like
Oraoledb19.dll
.
The patch will take around 20 minutes or so for completion after triggering the
8.3.5.5.0.bat
file.
Perform the following steps:
  1. Download and extract the CA Business Service Insight™ Cumulative Patch 8.3.5.5 (
    BSI_8.3.5.5_CumulativePatch.zip
    ) from Broadcom Support.
  2. Execute the
    8.3.5.5.0.bat
    file on the following servers:
    • Web Servers
    • App Servers
  3. Restart the Web and App servers.
  4. If you are using a proxy server to access CA Business Service Insight™, perform the following steps:
    • Clear the cache on the proxy server.
    • Clear the browser cache and delete the temporary files.
Engine Settings in the Interface for Freeing up memory
Perform the following steps:
  1. Login to CA BSI Web Interface.
  2. Login to CA BSI Web Interface.
  3. Navigate to Administration, Site Settings, Engine page:
    1. Start freeing memory when it exceeds 1000 MB.
    2. Stop freeing memory when it drops below 200 MB.
    3. Maximum memory calculation interval is based on the deployment and implementation.
Oblicore Oblisync API directory component changes
Perform the following steps:
  1. Navigate to the folder where Oblicore Web is installed.
  2. Navigate to “Oblicore\ObliSync\API” in the web installed root folder.
  3. Open the web.config file and add the below lines of code before <system.diagnostics> tag:

Microsoft SQL Server Adapters Component Changes
Adapter changes are required for existing configured adapters. Perform the following:
  1. Stop the Microsoft SQL Server Adapters from the adapters page.
  2. Open existing SQL adapters and select the Oblicore Database from the pop up.
  3. The connection string value selected is as shown below:
    Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle; Password=${PWD};User ID=oblicore;Data Source=oblicore;Persist Security Info=True; DISTRIBTX=0;
  4. Save the adapter.
BRV Changes
Perform the following steps:
  1. Take a backup of "machine.config" file present in the .Net Framework 4 installed folder.
  2. Add the following lines of code if it is missing in the <configSections>:
    <section name="oracle.dataaccess.client" type="System.Data.Common.DbProviderConfigurationHandler, System.Data, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" />
  3. Add the following lines of code, if it is missing in the <DbProviderFactories>:
    <DbProviderFactories> <add name="Oracle Data Provider for .NET" invariant="Oracle.DataAccess.Client" description="Oracle Data Provider for .NET" type="Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleClientFactory, Oracle.DataAccess, Version=4.122.19.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342" /> </DbProviderFactories>
  4. OpenJDK 8 support:
    1. Stop all the Oblicore services, IIS Web server, and close all browser windows of BSI application.
    2. Back up the Java folder where it is installed on the server.
    3. Replace the Java JDK folder contents (example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.8.0_202) with the patch contents (BSI_8.3.5.5_CumulativePatch\AdoptOpenJDK8).
  5. Remove Tomcat 6:
    Run the Tomcat6Removal.bat file as an Administrator to uninstall Oblicore - Tomcat 6 service from windows services. This file is located in the patch folder (BSI_8.3.5.5_CumulativePatch\Tomcat6Utility) This will backup and remove existing tomcat folder %OG_Home%\Tomcat.
  6. Wildfly 8.1/JBoss:
    To install Wildfly 8.1/JBoss support with JDK 1.8/AdoptOpenJDK 8, see Install Wildfly 8.1 with AdoptOpenJDK 8.
Uninstall
CA Business Service Insights
™ 8.3.5.5.
Perform the following steps to uninstall
CA Business Service Insights
™ Cumulative Patch 8.3.5.5:
  1. Log in to the web server. Stop all the oblicore services, IIS Web server, and close all browser windows of BSI application.
  2. Execute the batch file located at
    %OG_HOME%\PatchBackup\revert-latest-change.bat
  3. Log in to the app server. Stop all the oblicore services and close all browser windows of BSI application.
  4. Execute the batch file located at
    %OG_HOME%\PatchBackup\revert-latest-change.bat.
