APM Application Dashboard Annual Cost

The Annual Cost tab in the Application Dashboard shows annual planned cost by application source and installation type. You can easily view planned expenditures across both application source and installation type to ensure that the cost allocations align with the organizational strategy. This tab consists of the following portlets.

Use the page-level filters to filter all portlets at once by OBS, Application Source, Installation Type, Application Vendor, Software Category, and Software Sub-Category. You can drill down to the Annual Cost Drill Down portlet by clicking any donut or heat map segment to view the application detail for that application source or installation type. To access this tab, click Home, Dashboards, Application Dashboard. Select the Annual Cost tab.

Annual Planned Cost by Application Source Portlet
The Annual Planned Cost by Application Source portlet displays a donut graph showing annual planned cost by application source. The portlet provides a quick view of the annual planned cost percentage distribution for purchased software as compared with in-house and open source to ensure that expenditures are made according to strategy.
  • You can click a donut segment to drill down to the Annual Cost Drill Down portlet to view the individual applications within that application source and their detailed scores and metrics.
  • Rolling your cursor over a segment displays the annual planned cost.
The portlet includes the same filters as the page, except for the Software Sub-Category filter.
This portlet includes the following metric:
  • Annual Planned Cost.
    This amount is derived from the application Cost Plan of Record under Financial Planning. Costs are displayed for the current fiscal year. If the application does not have a Cost Plan, this amount is derived from the application Financial Summary Planned Cost that is prorated for the current fiscal year.
Annual Planned Cost by Installation Type Portlet
The Annual Planned Cost by Installation Type portlet displays a donut graph showing annual planned cost by installation type. The portlet provides a quick view of the annual planned cost percentage distribution for SaaS compared with On Premise installations to ensure that spending is aligned with organizational goals.
  • You can click a donut segment to drill down to the Annual Cost Drill Down portlet to view the individual applications within that installation type and their detailed scores and metrics.
  • Rolling your cursor over a segment displays the annual planned cost.
The portlet includes the same filters as the page, except for the Software Sub-Category filter.

  • Annual Planned Cost.
    This amount is derived from the application Cost Plan of Record under Financial Planning. Costs are displayed for the current fiscal year. If the application does not have a Cost Plan, this amount is derived from the application Financial Summary Planned Cost that is prorated for the current fiscal year.
Annual Planned Cost by Installation Type and Application Source Portlet
The Annual Planned Cost by Installation Type and Application Source portlet displays a heat map graph showing annual planned cost by installation type and application source. The portlet provides a comparison of annual planned cost between SaaS and On Premise installations and between purchased software and in-house and open source. You can easily determine which strategies are the most and least expensive so that the application portfolio can be adjusted accordingly to meet organizational cost constraints and goals.
  • The heat map color is based on annual planned cost.
  • You can drill down to the Annual Cost Drill Down portlet by clicking any amount to see the individual applications and metric details.
  • Rolling your cursor over an amount displays the axes values and annual planned cost.
The portlet includes the same filters as the page, except for the Software Sub-Category filter.

  • Annual Planned Cost.
    This amount is derived from the application Cost Plan of Record under Financial Planning. Costs are displayed for the current fiscal year. Annual Cost Drill Down Portlet
The Annual Cost Drill Down portlet provides application detail and various metrics for all applications within that application source or installation type. Clicking an application navigates to the application properties page. Rolling your cursor over a score in the grid displays the score value.

  • Value Score.
    This score is an aggregated calculated attribute that is derived from the application latest assessment that has a status equal to

  • Technical Score.
    This score is an aggregated calculated attribute that is derived from the application latest assessment that has a status equal to

  • Risk Score.
    This score is an aggregated calculated attribute that is derived from the application latest assessment that has a status equal to

  • Number of Users.
    This amount is the Number of Users field from the application properties page.
  • Annual Planned Cost.
    This amount is derived from the application Cost Plan of Record under Financial Planning. Costs are displayed for the current fiscal year. If the application does not have a Cost Plan, this amount is derived from the application Financial Summary Planned Cost that is prorated for the current fiscal year.
  • Total Number of Users.
    This amount is a sum of Number of Users.
  • Total Annual Planned Cost.
    This amount is a sum of Annual Planned Cost.
