Clarity PPM and Agile Central Attribute Mapping

ccppmop157
When you create a new
Rally
Portfolio Item from a
Clarity PPM
project, the following information mapping occurs:
  • Portfolio Item Name is based on the project name
  • Planned Start and End dates are based on the Project Start and Project Finish dates
  • Owner ID is based on the Default Agile Central Owner ID value from the integration instance that is specified in the CA PPM project, Agile System field. If you leave the Default Agile Central Owner ID field blank while configuring an integration instance, a blank Owner ID appears in the corresponding agile portfolio item in
    Rally
    .
  • Project is based on the Default Agile Central Project ID value from the integration instance that is specified in the CA PPM project, Agile System field. If you leave the Default Agile Central Project ID field blank while configuring an integration instance, the Project field of the corresponding portfolio item in
    Rally
is set to the first project in the alphabetical order of the projects of the workspace.
Once the
Rally
Portfolio Item is created, you can change these values in
Rally
. When the Synchronize Agile Central job runs, it does not overwrite the recently updated values except for the Portfolio Item Name.  The job keeps the Portfolio Item Name synchronized with the PPM project name.
Scrum teams can define features, user stories, and tasks under the
Rally
Portfolio Item. When you next synchronize with
Rally
, the status details from the  Portfolio Item are updated in the corresponding PPM project. The agile feature details are brought over as tasks in PPM. The following task fields are populated with default values based on the specified agile system integration record:
  • Cost Type
  • Charge Code
  • Open for Time Entry
During the agile project life cycle, you can synchronize the projects and tasks with status details from
Rally
. As a CA PPM administrator, you can set up the Synchronize job to run at scheduled intervals.
Project-Level Attribute Mapping
The following CA Agile Central Initiative attributes are synchronized back to the CA PPM project Agile Summary page. The Agile Summary page is accessible from the Properties menu for a project. Not all status attributes from CA Agile Central are synchronized back to the project. See thefor attribute descriptions.

Depending on whether a task in
