The PMO Accelerator Advanced Reporting content includes two reports for checking the database connections to the main
Clarity
transactional database and the data warehouse database.

The Database Connection Check:
Classic PPM
report monitors the health of the transactional database connection. The report includes the data source connection, the database vendor, and the database schema. The report also displays the database link that is used to access the transactional database from the Data Warehouse.

Report Fields and Calculations
The report displays a green bulb gauge that shows

when the connection is successful. The report query performs a simple SELECT statement to verify the connection. If the connection is unsuccessful, the following error message appears:
The server has encountered an error. Excuse the inconvenience.
This message indicates that the report cannot be executed due to issues with the
Clarity
Bean Data Source connection.
This report contains the following fields:
  • Data Source:
    Displays the data source name
    Clarity
    BEAN.
  • DB Vendor:
    Displays Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server depending upon the value of the DB Vendor parameter that is passed through
    Classic PPM
    .
  • DB Schema:
    Displays the value of DB Schema parameter that is passed through
    Classic PPM
    .
  • DB Link:
    Displays the value of the DB Link parameter that is passed through
    Classic PPM
    . The report does not verify the existence of the database link. The report displays the DBLINK name that is defined in CSA that is passed into Advanced Reporting from
    Classic PPM
    .

Database Connection Check: Data Warehouse Report
The Database Connection Check: Data Warehouse report is used for monitoring purposes to determine the health of the database connection to the data warehouse (DWH). The report displays information relevant to the DWH database, such as the data source connection, the database vendor, and the schema. The report also displays the database link from the
Clarity
transactional database.
