Install CA Harvest SCM 14.0.1

CA Harvest SCM V14.0.1 is a patch update for CA Harvest SCM 14.0. To install CA Harvest SCM 14.0.1 on Windows and Linux, follow the below instructions:
Install on Windows
No database upgrade option is available from V14.0.0 to V14.0.1.
CA Harvest SCM 14.0.1 is supported only on Windows 64-bit.
  Ensure that you have installed the V14.0.0 on windows platform for all the Harvest components. Apply on all installed components, if they are co-existing on the same computer. For example:
  • Agent + Server
  • Agent + Client
  • Client + Server
  • Agent + Server + Client
Recommendation is not to apply the patch only on one component when it co-exists with another harvest component on the same computer.
Back up all your user data such as Conf files, dfo files or arg files from %CA_SCM_HOME %of V14.0.0 installation. After successful installation of V14.0.1, the patch details are available in the "
Installed Updates
" section of Control Panel.
Perform the following steps to install CA Harvest SCM 14.0.1. on Windows:
  1. Download CA Harvest SCM v14.0.1 (CAHarvestSCM_V1401_Win64.zip) patch from Broadcom Support to a local computer or a network drive.
  2. Close all Windows applications except Windows Explorer. Ensure that you also close any IDE programs
  3. Close all the CA Harvest SCM Client applications.
  4. If the computer where you are installing is a CA Harvest SCM server, shut down the Harvest broker and all Harvest server processes.
  5. Ensure that the patch files are accessible to all CA Harvest SCM server, client, and agent computers.
  6. On the Windows Explorer, open the folder containing the CA Harvest SCM V14.0.1 patch install files.
  7. Run the matching
    CAHarvestSCMV1401<component>patch.exe file
    .
  8. Select the update option.
  9. Click
    Finish
    when the installation is complete.
    You have successfully installed the patch on top of Harvest SCM V14.0.0 for the respective component.
If you have one or more CA Harvest SCM V14.0.0 components that are installed on a computer, run the matching patch V14.0.1 installation file for each installed component.
Example
: If a computer has both the CA SCM server and agent installed, run both Server and Agent patch for V14.0.1 installations on that computer.
On computers with multiple CA Harvest SCM V14 components, the order in which you run the patches is not important. However, you must update all V14 components on a computer with the patch, before you can use CA Harvest SCM again on that computer. Repeat the same steps to install all the Harvest components that you select.
Microsoft SQL Server Database
Perform the following steps after installing CA Harvest SCM 14.0.1 on Microsoft SQL Server Database:
  1. Navigate to the
    %CA_SCM_HOME%\Database
    folder.
  2. Run the
    Models_SQLServer_V1401Patch.sql
    file. The required table to be used with V14.0.1 is created.
  3. Sample Formulation:
    Osql –d <database name> -i <sqlfile> –U <user name> -P <user password> -e –b –o output.log
Oracle Database
After installing CA Harvest SCM V14.0.1 on Oracle database, perform the following steps to run the following SQL query:
  1. Navigate to the
    %CA_SCM_HOME%\Database f
    older.
  2. Run the
    Models_Oracle_V1401patch.sql
    file. The required table to be used with V14.0.1 is created.
    For example: Connect to the harvest schema owner using the valid credentials.
    Sqlplus harvestschemaowner/[email protected]_SID
  3. Run the
    Models_Oracle_V1401Patch.sql
    file:
    SQL> @ Models_Oracle_V1401Patch.sql
Install on Linux
CA Harvest SCM V14.0.1 is supported only on Linux 64-bit. To install the CA Harvest SCM patch V14.0.1 for Harvest server, client, and agent, ensure that you are installing it on an on CA Harvest SCM 14.0.
Apply the patch on CA Harvest SCM V14.0.0 on individual components only. To reapply patch V14.0.1 after Rollback, delete the backup folder created in the PATCHES folder in $CA_SCM_HOME for the respective component.
Perform the following steps:
  1. Download CA Harvest SCM 14.0.1 (CAHarvestSCM_V1401_Linux64.tar) from Broadcom Support.
  2. On Linux, ensure that the umask is set to 0022.
  3. Log in to the operating system using your Linux CA Harvest SCM account.
  4. Close all the CA Harvest SCM client applications.
  5. If this computer is a CA Harvest SCM server, shut down the Harvest broker and all Harvest server processes.
  6. Back up all your custom files, which include UDPs and Forms.
  7. Create the $CA_SCM_HOME/PATCHES directory, if it does not exist.
  8. Copy the V14.0.1 installer file to the $CA_SCM_HOME/PATCHES directory.
  9. Change the current directory to $CA_SCM_HOME/PATCHES.
  10. Unzip the V14.0.1 patch installer file and un-tar the file. This creates the CAHarvestSCMV1401<component>patch directory, if it does not already exist.
  11. If you have previously executed this patch, rename or remove any previous backup directory for this patch.
  12. Change the current directory to CAHarvestSCMV1401<component>patch directory.
  13. Enter the following command:
    Apply<component>PATCH.sh
  14. Review the
    PATCH.log
    file in the
    CAHarvestSCMV1401patch<component>_BKP
    directory.
Oracle Database
After installing CA Harvest SCM 14.0.1 on Linux with Oracle Database, perform the following steps to run the SQL Query:
  1. Navigate to the
    %CA_SCM_HOME%\Database
    folder.
  2. Run the
    Models_Oracle_V1401patch.sql
    file. The required table to be used with V14.0.1 is created.
    For example: Connect to the harvest schema owner using the valid credentials.
