Install the Agent Plug-in
You can install CA WA Agent for Microsoft SQL Server using an interactive program that prompts you for the required information.
Follow these steps:
  1. Copy the mssql.pak file into the agent installation directory. You can copy this file from the product ISO from the Support website (https://casupport.broadcom.com/).
  2. Change to the agent installation directory. For example, type the following command:
    cd C:\Program Files\CA\WA Agent
  3. Stop the agent using the following command:
    cybAgent -s
  4. If you are in the agent directory, start the installation program by using the following command:
    PluginInstaller.exe mssql.pak <

    >
    If you are not in the agent directory, specify the path to the plugininstaller.exe file, as shown in the following example:
    "D:\Program Files\CA\SystemAgent\WA_Agent\PluginInstaller.exe" mssql.pak "D:\Program Files\CA\SystemAgent\WA_Agent
  5. Enter the information the installation program prompts you for.
    The installation program displays a message and closes automatically upon a successful installation.
The installation program backs up all modified and replaced files. The backup files are compressed into a file that is named backup_timestamp.zip, located in the backups subdirectory of the agent installation directory. You can use Winzip or other similar utilities to open the backup file. A backup copy of the agentparm.txt file is stored in the zip file.

If you are using Windows authentication with a jTDS driver, ensure that the db.Url property in the properties file includes useNTLMv2=TRUE. For example:
db.url=jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://localhost:1433/msdb;useNTLMv2=TRUE;
For more information about the jTDS URL format, see "What is the URL format used by jTDS?" in the The jTDS Project FAQ.
