Disabling System-Defined Application Creation

Disabling System-Defined Application Creation
cada
If needed, you can disable the automatic creation of system-defined applications and servers on a single port and multi-port monitors.
For Single Port Monitors:

To disable automated application discovery and configuration, follow the steps below for each
Application Delivery Analysis
Single Port Monitor in your environment:
  1. Create the following file using a text editor:
    <ADA_HOME>\bin\saConfigInterfaceRuntimeOptions.ini
  2. Add the line:
    /force positive config
  3. Save and close the file.
  4. Restart the
    Application Delivery Analysis
Monitor service for each single port monitor in your environment.
When the above change is made, the console will no longer automatically discover system applications and servers. This is useful for manually configuring only the applications and servers you wish to monitor.

For Virtual Multi-Port Monitors:
  1. Log in to the VMTP system using the netqos account.
  2. Create the following file using a text editor:
    /opt/NetQoS/bin/saConfigInterfaceRuntimeOptions.ini
  3. Add the line:
    -force positive config
  4. Save and close the file.
  5. Restart the
    nqmetricd
service on the Multi-Port Monitor device using one of the following methods:
    1. From a command prompt:
      sudo /sbin/service nqmetricd restart

    2. From the MTP UI
      Administration, Processes
       page
    3. From the
      Application Delivery Analysis
       Console, perform a
      Synchronize Monitor
      .
