This article describes the QoS messages generated by the mon_config_service probe.
QoS Metrics
The following QoS messages are generated by the mon_config_service probe to provide information about the tasks it is performing.

QOS_MCS_DEVICECOUNT <overall
devicecount
>
Numeric
The total number of devices being managed by the Monitoring Configuration Service.
8.4
QOS_MCS_DEVICECOUNT <
devicecountbystatus
>
Numeric
The total number of devices found in one of the following states:
  • new - The number of devices added for MCS to manage.
  • ok - The number of devices to which MCS configuration profiles have been applied.
  • modified - The number of devices MCS has not applied configuration profiles to.
  • suspended - The number of devices that have MCS configuration profiles that are suspended, meaning the profiles exist but have not been applied to a device.
  • error - The number of devices that were previously monitored but are no longer detected in the CA UIM environment. Contact CA Support if you see the error state and the target device is operating and should be reachable.
  • unavailable - The number of devices that MCS cannot communicate with. Generally, this state indicates a communication issue between the Primary hub and a target device (or robot), or there is an issue with the Primary hub.
Note: Some of the states are not visible in the Profile Status section of a configuration profile. However, you can view all states if you create a report that includes a QOS_MCS_DEVICECOUNT for each state.

QOS_MCS_POLICYAPPLICATION <
policy_application_pct
>
Numeric
The percentage of devices that group profiles were actually applied to.
8.4
QOS_MCS_PROFILECOUNT <overall
profilecount
>
Numeric
The total number of profile configurations that exist and are currently managed by the Monitoring Configuration Service.
8.4
QOS_MCS_PROFILECOUNT <
profilecountbystatus
>
Numeric
The total number of profiles found in one of the following states:
  • new or modified - The number of profiles created or modified that are waiting to be deployed. Profiles in the new or modified states are locked.
  • ok - The number of new, modified or suspended profiles that MCS successfully deployed or unsuspended.
  • pending - The number of new or modified profiles that MCS is in the process of deploying to target devices.
  • suspended - The number of profiles that are in the suspended state. MCS will not deploy configuration profiles that are in this state.
  • delete - The number of profiles marked for deletion.
  • error - The number of profiles that MCS failed to delete or deploy. Generally, an error state occurs when MCS cannot reach a device, or a probe on a target device is inactive. When an error state appears in the Profile Status, modify a profile setting. This causes MCS to attempt to deploy the configuration profile to the selected target group or device again.
  • pending_delete - The number of profiles that are in the process of being undeployed.
  • pending_suspend - The number of profiles in the process of being suspended. When a profile is suspended, MCS removes the configuration profile from the associated probe on a target device, but does not remove the configuration profiles from the MCS database. The probe stops monitoring a target device. If a group configuration profile is suspended, the configuration profile applied to all group members is also suspended.
Note: Some of the states are not visible in the Profile Status section of a configuration profile. However, you can view all states if you create a report that includes a QOS_MCS_PROFILECOUNT for each state.
