This article contains the following topics:
Prerequisite
Before you create a profile or customize the schema, ensure that RESTMon 1.38 probe is running in your environment. For more information about the restmon probe prerequisites, see RESTful API Monitoring.
MarkLogic Schema and Template
Download the schema
marklogic_schema.json
from the CA Support site and customize. Upload the custom schema from the
Operator Console
,
Settings
,
RESTMon configuration
. After you upload the schema, it gets converted into a template and you can create profiles from the USM
Monitoring
tab. Follow the instructions here to customize the schema and view the template in the USM
Monitoring
tab: RESTful API Monitoring.
Create Profiles and Monitor Technologies Using MarkLogic Probe
To start monitoring the technology using the Marklogic probe, create a profile from the
Monitoring
tab in USM
and then enable or disable the required metrics to collect the required data.
Follow these steps:
  1. As a Tenant Administrator, log into USM and navigate to
    Groups
    ,
    Operating System
    .
  2. Select and expand the robot hosting the restmon probe and navigate to the
    Monitoring
    tab.
  3. Click on the setup available for the Marklogic:
    Setup marklogic
For custom schemas, the template name is taken from the friendly name that you define while uploading the schema in Operator Console.

If you want to configure alarm thresholds from the metrics selection page, configure the
    policy_mode_enabled
parameter in the MCS configuration file and set the value as
    false
. Once you set the parameter, the following section appears for metrics and alarms configuration:
    Metric Collection and Alarm Definition
. For more information about configuring alarm thresholds, see Configuring Alarm Thresholds in MCS. Alternatively, you can create alarm policies and can configure thresholds from the Operator Console. For more information about creating alarm policies, see Manage Alarms with Centralized Alarm Policies.
  5. Navigate to the
    Inventory
, search for the hostname that you defined while creating the profile, and then click on the
    Metrics
    tab
to view the metrics collection and to view alarms, click
