The NFA Inventory probe is the integration point between CA Network Flow Analysis (CA NFA) and
CA Unified Infrastructure Management
(CA UIM). The integration allows you to view NetFlow/IPFIX/Jflow/Sflow data in context with SNMP data for an interface inside the Unified Management Portal (UMP).
The views that are displayed are:
  • Stacked Protocol Trend - In
  • Stacked Protocol Trend - Out
  • Top Hosts
  • Top Conversations
The integration enables customers to drill from CA UIM to CA NFA for extra diagnostic detail, and back to CA UIM from within CA NFA. Multi-tenancy is supported.

Probe-Specific Configuration Requirements
  • Only one instance of the probe is supported.
  • The probe must run within the same hub domain as the Discovery Server.
  • The probe must be configured with the same origin as SnmpCollector.
  • Current versions of CA NFA, UDM, Discovery Server, and wasp must all reside in the same hub domain.
Probe-Specific Software Requirements
The CA NFA Inventory probe requires the following software environment:
  • CA Unified Infrastructure Management
    Server v8.4 or later, including SNMP Collector 2.1 or later
It is recommended that the 
CA Unified Infrastructure Management
Server and CA Unified Management Portal (UMP) are the same version.
  • Robot version 5.23 or later
  • Java Virtual Machine (JVM) version 1.7 or later (deployed as part of the probe package)
  • CA Network Flow Analysis R9.3.3 or later
Installation Considerations
  1. Download the package into your archive.
  2. Deploy the package from your archive onto the targeted robot.
  3. Use Admin Console to access the probe configuration user interface.
Import the Self-Signed Certificate 
Before you configure to use SSL, verify that you have generated and exported the self-signed certificate on the NFA Console. For more information, see Generate or Configure Certificates for Use by CA Network Flow Analysis in the NFA documentation.
Follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to the robot running the nfa_inventory probe.
  2. Open an administrator command prompt.
  3. Navigate to the keytool utility in the directory where the JRE resides:
    <Robot_installation>/jre/<jre_version>/lib/security
  4. Import the certificate using the following command:
    <Robot_installation>/jre/<jre_version>/bin/keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore <keystore_location> -storepass xxx -alias yyy -import -file <root_certificate>.cer
    The following is an example of the import command:
    keytool -import -trustcacerts -keystore "C:\Program Files (x86)\Nimsoft\jre\jre8u102\lib\security\cacerts" -storepass pass01 -alias newnfacert -import -file "C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\newnfacert.cer"

The NFA Inventory (nfa_inventory) configuration is available through the Admin Console user interface only and not through the Infrastructure Manager (IM) user interface.
