spectrumgtw (Spectrum Gateway) Release Notes
The Spectrum Gateway (spectrumgtw) probe enables bidirectional integration between DX NetOps Spectrum and UIM. You can view and manage alarms using UIM and DX NetOps Spectrum. The Spectrum Gateway (spectrumgtw) probe enables bidirectional integration between DX NetOps Spectrum and UIM. You can view and manage alarms using UIM and DX NetOps Spectrum. The probe inventory synchronizes DX NetOps Spectrum inventory only through the Global Collections in DX NetOps Spectrum. The probe always asserts new alarms from UIM as new alarms in DX NetOps Spectrum.
For the latest Spectrum-UIM integration compatibility information, refer to DX NetOps Spectrum and DX UIM Interoperability page.
UIM service desk gateway probes manage tickets in connected service desks. DX NetOps Spectrum alarms are not annotated with information about root cause and symptomatic conditions in these tickets. For example, a service desk gateway probe in UIM generates a ticket in the service desk for a DX NetOps Spectrum alarm. When DX NetOps Spectrum identifies the alarm as symptomatic to another alarm from DX NetOps Spectrum, the ticket for the initial alarm is not annotated with the information.

8.69 | What's New
Fixed Defects:
Symptom: Spectrumgtw sends false alarm updates to Spectrum when there is no change to the UIM custom attributes which is resulting in unnecessary email notifications from Spectrum.
Resolution: Added additional validation in Spectrumgtw to find actually updated attributes from the UIM alarm update. With this change.

In SSL environment, after upgrading to spectrumgtw probe 8.66 ensure that SSL certificate of DX NetOps Spectrum OneClick is imported to keystore of spectrumgtw probe. Otherwise, connection to Spectrum OneClick server fails. For instructions, see Import DX NetOps Spectrum SSL (https) Certificate into Spectrum Gateway Probe. Probe-Specific Hardware Requirements
The spectrumgtw probe is installed on systems with the following minimum resources:
- Memory: 4 GB of RAM; The OOB configuration of the probe requires 256 MB of RAM.
- CPU: 3-GHz dual-core processor; 32-bit or 64-bit
Probe-Specific Software Requirements
The spectrumgtw probe requires the following software environment:
- CA Spectrum 10.1.2 or later
- CA Unified Infrastructure Management 8.47 or later: The spectrumgtw probe version 8.51 and later require UIM 8.51 or later.
- Robot 7.80 or later (recommended)
- Java_jre version 7 or later
- Spectrum UIM Services package on the primary hubDeploy the same version of the spectrumgtw probe and the Spectrum UIM Services package.
- The ems and trellis probes on the primary hub. The probes must be of the applicable UIM version. Ensure that thespectrum-uim-service-implservice is deployed in trellis on the primary hub.
- vmware probe version 6.72 or later to synchronize VMware inventory from UIM to DX NetOps Spectrum
The probe requires more software for advanced features. For more information, see from the following articles:
- (From version 8.60)spectrumgtw Synchronize All DX NetOps Spectrum Inventory
- (From version 8.64)spectrumgtw Advanced Configuration
Probe Supported Operating Systems
The probe supports the following operating systems:
- Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
Installation Considerations
Consider the following points before you install the probe:
- The probe only synchronizes with the DX NetOps Spectrum Global Collection that you specify in thespectrumgtwnode >Spectrum Configurationsection. Create a Global Collection of the devices that you want to synchronize with UIM.
- (For bi-directional integration between UIM and DX NetOps Spectrum)Enable theDX NetOps Spectrum OneClick>UIM Configurationnode >UIM Integrationsection >CA Spectrum-UIM Bidirectional Managementcheck box and click Save. Starting from CA Spectrum 10.2.3, the integration can be configured through either CA Spectrum or spectrumgtw probe Admin Console (from v8.65).To configure the integration in DX NetOps Spectrum, choose the integration option asLegacy Integration, configure and select theCA Spectrum-UIM Bidirectional Managementcheck box then click Save. To configure the integration in spectrumgtw probe, choose the integration option asSpectrumGateway Integrationand click Save. Configure the integration in thespectrumgtwprobeDisable the associated profile in the snmpgtw probe, if applicable, to move from uni-directional to bi-directional integration.
- Secure Hub & Robot (UIM 9 SP1 and above) - In a secure environment, if any probe that is installed on an independent secure robot tries to subscribe to queues in the related secure hub, the probe fails to attach to the queues. As a workaround, if the probes require reading or publish to a hub queue, then deploy the probe on the primary hub robot. For more information, see Secure Hub and Robot.
Known Issues
- Operator Console Device hierarchy (Tree structure) might not get refreshed automatically when the DX NetOps Spectrum nodes are removed from the Global Collection. You must refresh the Operator Console page manually.
- If a SpectroSERVER in a Fault-Tolerant setup comes up/ goes down, theUIM Alarm IDcolumn in DX NetOps Spectrum OneClick is empty, andSourceandChange Ownervalues are set to Default. Trigger a full synchronization job manually from the Actions menu in the spectrumgtw probe Admin Console.
- In the DX NetOps Spectrum OneClick, alarm messages that are received from UIM are displayed with English texts, instead of the localized languages in this release. In the Unified Service Manager portlet in Operatr Console, the alarm messages are displayed with localized texts for non-English languages.
If the troubleshooter is updated for a DX NetOps Spectrum alarm on UIM and immediately a full synchronization job is triggered, then the update is lost, and the alarm from the Source Product is synchronized.
Similarly, if the troubleshooter is updated for a UIM alarm on DX NetOps Spectrum, and a full synchronization job is triggered immediately the update is lost and the alarm from the source product is synchronized.
- Unable to save the probe configuration. "Probe spectrumgtw on the robot is busy, Please wait and retry loading configuration later" error. Wait and select Retry.
