Dashboard Specific Requirements
The following requirements exist:
  • The vmware (VMware Monitoring) probe version 6.87 or later must be deployed and collecting data.
  • CA UIM 9.0.2
  • CABI Probe version
    : cabi version 3.30 or later
  • CABI Packages
    : ump_cabi portlet version 3.20 and uim_core_dashboards_pack version 2.40
  • Monitoring Technology Dashboard Package
    : uim_vmware_dashboards_pack version 1.0.0
  • The Metrics for VMware Dashboards must be enabled in the vmware probe to populate the dashboard with data. The easiest way to enable the metrics is to configure the probe with a template. The default template for the vmware probe contains all the required metric settings.
VMware Summary Dashboard
Use this dashboard to view an overview of the usage and performance of your VMware environment.  The reports that are the source of the dashlets in this dashboard are located in the CABI Server repository at
/public/ca/uim/reports/vmware
.
To access this dashboard, click the link for the vmware probe.
The following table shows examples of the types of dashlets that appear in the VMware Summary dashboard.

A report that provides a general summary panel for alarms that are associated with a dashboard.

VMware Summary Alarms
A report to view alarm count by severity.
The following actions are possible:
  • Click a column for an alarm severity to view a filtered list of alarms in the Alarm view.
  • Click the open alarms link on this report to view an Alarm Summary dashboard. For more information about the Alarm Summary dashboard, see Summary Dashboards.

VMware Stats
A report that lists the components in your VMware environment with alarms. The alarm icon shows the highest alarm level for a specific type of device. The column Current, shows device count of each type of device.

VMware VM KPIs
A report that lists data for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for VMs in your environment. The KPIs are sorted by alarm severity.
  • 3.32:6 (VMs with Memory Ballooning)
  • 3.32:5 (VMs with High CPU Ready)

VMware Device by Role
A report that provides an overview of the components that are in your environment. The report displays information for all the VMware devices that are detected in your environment.
You can filter the items that appear in this report by clicking a device role in the report legend. Click the link on this report to view additional device summary information.

VMware Hosts by Alarm
A report that lists devices by alarm count by severity. The report displays information for all the Virtual Machine (VM) hosts that are detected in your VMware environment.
Click one of the links on this report to view a Device Summary dashboard for a specific device. For more information about the Device Summary dashboard, see Summary Dashboards.
By default, the report displays the top 10 devices that are sorted by alarm level. The device count can be changed by applying filter.
