Here are the new, changed, and deprecated features in
Cloud Monitoring Enhancements
In this release, we have made several enhancements that are related to cloud monitoring, including these enhancements:
New Network Layer
DX APM provides a new network layer, which correlates application components, Infrastructure elements, and network topology. This correlation helps you identify whether the performance bottleneck is in an application, the infrastructure, or the network. The
Map now includes a
Network Layer
. The Network Layer contains information from the Infrastructure Agents and their cloud extensions. This layer shows the Cloud elements such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Routers, Interconnects, Subnets, and other elements of cloud VPCs.

Google Cloud Monitoring
Enable these cloud services to view the components and the connections in the network layer:
  • Google Virtual Private Cloud Service
Google Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) provides networking functionality to Compute Engine virtual machine (VM) instances, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) containers, and the App Engine flexible environment. Google Virtual Private Cloud service allows you to monitor the health and performance of the network.

    Google Cloud Virtual Private Cloud
  • Google Cloud Routers Service
The Google Cloud Router is a service that works over Cloud VPN or Cloud Interconnect connections. Cloud Router provides dynamic routing by using the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for your Google Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networks. Using this service, you can monitor the health and performance of cloud routers in the Google Cloud Platform.

    Google Cloud Routers
  • Google Cloud Interconnect Service
The Google Cloud Interconnect service allows you to monitor the health and performance of Google Cloud Interconnect in the Google Cloud Platform.

Amazon Web Services
AWS Role-Based Authentication With No Credentials
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Role-Based Authentication monitors AWS accounts without any credentials. To use Role-based authentication, create a policy and role on the AWS accounts to monitor the AWS Agent.

Java Agent
Oracle Service Bus 12C Extension
The Oracle Service Bus 12C (OSB12) extension monitors OSB transaction details, performance metrics, and deep health insights by reporting complete information about end-to-end request flows. The extension displays all OSB components in a flow.

Case-insensitive Map Filtering
The URL filtering value composed to query the
views is now case insensitive. For example, if you query for host name
also queries for
Metric Trees Filtered by Map
The new
Filter Metric View by Map components
option in the
editor filters metric trees in the Metric Browser by map.

APM Command Center
APM Command Center UI Compliant with WCAG 2.0 AA
You can now use assistive technologies to traverse the APM Command Center UI. The APM Command Center now complies with WCAG 2.0 AA criteria.
Other Features
Persisted JavaScript Calculators
JavaScript calculators now support continuous metric calculation across
restarts and upgrades without any manual interaction. The calculators are now stored in a persisted drive.
DX Dashboards -- Added Support for Aggregation Functions in NASS API
NassQL query language provides a flexible way to query and process metric data on the server. The NassQL query language is similar to SQL language known from relational databases. You can query the metric data using various functions. You can use the FROM function, and group data using the WINDOW and GROUP functions. You can also further aggregate and map using functions.

Known Issue
DE492513 - Cannot Apply New Package to Agents in APM Command Center
In APM Command Center, I created a package for an agent and performed some configuration during the creation. I then updated the package. When I went to apply the package to my agents, no agents were listed. Therefore, I could not apply the updated package version to my connected agents.
Use this workaround to install the agent with the updated package.
Follow these steps:
  1. In APM Command Center, click
    in the left navigation pane.
  2. Select the updated version of the agent from the
The agent information displays in the center pane.
  3. In the
    Package Version
    section, find the
    Download Package
  4. Click
    Download package archive
DX APM downloads the package to your computer.
  5. Uninstall the old agent.
  6. Install the agent with the latest package version.
