Configure the Basic Security Settings

You can view the settings that control the basic security protocols and algorithms that
NetOps Portal
uses using
NetOps Portal
. You can manage these settings using the Single Sign-On Configuration (SSOConfig) and the SSL Configuration tools. This article details how to view the settings in
NetOps Portal
.

Follow these steps:
  1. Log in as a user with administrative role rights.
  2. Hover over
    Administration
    ,
    Configuration Settings
    , and then click
    Security Settings
    .
    The
    Security Settings
    page appears.
  3. In the
    Basic Security
    section, view the following security settings:
    • Enable HTTPS-based communication
      When enabled,
      NetOps Portal
      uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) networking protocol for communication between its components. By default, the connections are unsecure.
      For more information about how to enable HTTPS communication, see Set Up HTTPs.
      Default:
      Disabled
    • Enable FIPS-compliant encryption and hashing algorithms
      When enabled,
      DX NetOps Performance Management
      communicates and stores data using FIPS encryption and hashing algorithms (where applicable). By default, communication and data storage is unencrypted.

      Disabled
    • Custom HTTP headers
      Defines the custom HTTP headers that you have added to HTTP responses that
      NetOps Portal
      sends.

      None
