Apply Global SNMP Settings and ACLs

After you complete your global SNMP settings with appropriate Access Control Lists (ACLs), apply the SNMP settings to  policies.

After you complete your global SNMP settings with appropriate Access Control Lists (ACLs), apply the SNMP settings to 
Server Automation
policies.
Follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to
    Resources
    ,
    Configuration
    .
  2. On the
    Policy
    page, expand
    Policy
    ,
    Policies
    ,
    SystemEDGE
    in the navigation pane.
    The
    CA SystemEDGE
    page opens, listing the available policies.
  3. (Optional) Click add to create a policy.
  4. On the New SystemEDGE Policy dialog, specify the required data to create a policy, and then click
    OK
    .
  5. Open the policy to apply to one or more managed systems and click
    Traps & Communities
    .
    Only default (global) SNMP settings with a port that matches the agent port are included in the configuration.
  6. On the Communities page, select one of the following options and verify that at least one community with the appropriate port is specified for each target system:
    • If you select
      Include only Server Communities
      ,
      verify that the target system has appropriate server-level SNMP settings. You can select the following generic server communities:
      • Server Read
      • Server Write
    • They represent the existing read and write credentials at the server level. 
    • If you select
      Include Server Communities and all Default Communities
      , all global SNMP settings from the table and server-level settings are applied to the target systems.
    • If you select
      Custom Selection
      , only the selected SNMP settings from the table are applied to the target systems. This option only lets you select global settings.
  7. Click
    Save Policy
    .
