Specify Global SNMP Settings and ACLs

You can specify Access Control Lists (ACLs) for hse SNMP credentials at the global, policy, and system level. To minimize the dependency on system-specific SNMP objects, associate the ACLs with global SNMP objects.

To edit ACLs at the global level, use
Administration
,
Configuration
,
SNMP
from the user interface.
Follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to
    Administration
    ,
    SNMP
    .
    The
    SNMP Settings
    page opens.
  2. (Optional) To create an SNMP Settings object, click
    Actions
    ,
    New
    .
    The
    New SNMP Settings
    dialog opens. An SNMP Settings object consists of
    • A name
    • The community string
    • The operation type (read-only or read/write)
    • The SNMP version, port, timeout, retry limit, and ACL
    Use the port number that is specified on the managed nodes to which you want to apply the SNMP settings.
  3. Specify the required data to create an SNMP Settings object, then click
    OK
    .
  4. Select the SNMP Settings object to which to add an ACL, then click the
    Edit
    icon.
  5. On the
    Edit SNMP Settings dialog with ACL
    panel, specify the names or IP addresses of the manager systems under the
    Policy Configuration SystemEDGE Access Control List
    panel, then click
    OK.
    The ACL for a specific global SNMP Settings object is specified.
You can apply the global SNMP Settings object with the ACL to policies.
