You can create global SNMP settings or server-specific SNMP settings that are valid for a specific server. You can apply global settings to server groups through policies.

- Navigate toAdministration,SNMP.
- To create an SNMP Settings object, clickActions,Newon the SNMP Settings page for global objects.
- On the New SNMP settings dialog, set SNMP Version toSNMPv3.
- Complete the following fields, then clickOK:
- NameDefines a name for the SNMP credentials you are defining.
- PortDefines the port that is configured forCA SystemEDGEon the systems to manage with these credentials.
- SNMP versionIndicates SNMPv3 (which you set in Step 3).
- Security UserDefines the SNMP security user for the SNMP credentials that you are defining.
- Access TypeSpecifies the access type.Values:Read-OnlyorRead-Write.
- TimeoutSpecifies how long (in seconds) to wait for a confirmation of notification delivery before timing out.Default:10 seconds
- Retry limitSpecifies the number of times to retry sending a notification after a timeout.
- AuthenticationSpecifies the authentication protocol to use. Select a value from the Type drop-down list, then specify a password.Values:MD5orSHA
- PrivacySpecifies the privacy protocol to use. Select a value from the Type drop-down list, then specify a password.Values:DES,AES, or3DES
