Apply the Package Wrapper SNMP Settings

Configure  to use the package wrapper SNMP settings as server-level SNMP settings after hse registers with Policy Configuration. Otherwise, the application only uses the package wrapper SNMP settings until hse registers with Policy Configuration.

CA SystemEDGE
registers with Policy Configuration.
Follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to
    Administration, Configuration, Deployment & Configuration.
  2. Set the 
    Create server-specific SNMP settings when a SystemEDGE Agent
    registers
    option according to your requirements. The option controls whether the SNMP settings in the package wrapper become server-level SNMP settings. 
    Values:
    • Cleared:
      The manager does not store package wrapper SNMP settings. The SNMP settings are not available for distribution.
    • Selected:
      The manager stores package wrapper SNMP settings as server-level SNMP settings.
  3. Navigate to
    Resources
    ,
    Configure
    , and open the 
    CA SystemEDGE
    policy to apply to managed nodes.
  4. Under Traps & Communities, Server Communities on the Policy pane, select the appropriate items.
    Server Read
    and
    Server Write
    represent the server-level SNMP settings that are available for the managed nodes to which to apply the policy.
  5. Under Default Communities, select the appropriate items.
    The Default Communities represent the global SNMP settings.
  6. Navigate to
    Resources
    ,
    Deployment
    ,
    Packages 
    and open the 
    CA SystemEDGE
    package wrapper.
  7. Set the SNMP credentials, select the policy to apply to the 
    CA SystemEDGE
    agents after installation on the managed node, and save the wrapper.
  8. Create a Deployment Job and deploy the 
    CA SystemEDGE
    package with its policy to the managed nodes.
