Reconfigure the CA SystemEDGE Agent Port
You can reconfigure the hse agent port from the default (161) to 1691. For example, reconfigurating the hse agent port is necessary if you install the Microsoft SNMP Service, which implements a MIB-II agent on port 161. Editing the sysedge.cf file is not supported to reconfigure the agent port. Instead, use one of the following methods to change the port:

You can reconfigure the

Follow these steps to use the
CA SystemEDGE
control panel applet:- ClickStart,Control Panel,Add or Remove programs, then selectSystemEDGE Corein the list and clickChange.
- TheSystemEDGE Setup Wizardopens.
- ClickNext.
- On theReinstallation Typepage, selectReinstalland clickNext.
- On theApplication Configurationpage, clickNext.
- On theSystemEDGE SNMP Port Numberpage, set theCA SystemEDGEport number to1691, then clickNext.
- Review the settings, then clickReinstall.TheCA SystemEDGEagent is reconfigured to use port 1691.
Follow these steps to use Remote Deployment:
- Follow the steps in Create a Deployment Job. In Step 5 of the wizard, selectRedeploy previously deployed packages.During the reinstallation, all supplied installation parametersexceptthe port number are ignored.After you reinstall the agent to change the port, some manual steps are required on the manager to ensure that the agent is configured with the correct community strings.
- Completeoneof the following actions:
- Create server-specific SNMP entries for the server:
- In theServer AutomationUI, click theResourcestab and open theExplorepane, then select theMachine_Name.
- Right-click theMachine_Nameand selectPolicy,Configure SNMP Settings.
- On theSNMP Settingspage. clickAddto create a new entry for the required port.
- On theNew SNMP Settingspage, enter the required information, then clickOK.The server-specific SNMP entries are created for the server.
- Ensure that global SNMP settings exist and update the policy:
- In theServer AutomationUI, navigate toAdministration,SNMP, and add a new entry for the required port.
- Navigate to theResourcestab, open theConfigurepane, and select the policy.
- ClickTraps & Communities,Communities, then selectInclude server-specific SNMP settings and all Default settings.
- ClickSave Policy.
- Apply the policy to the system.
- Use theCA SystemEDGEcontrol panel applet on the agent machine to review the community strings that the agent uses.
