to deliver the deployment packages to the appropriate systems at the appropriate time.
Follow these steps:
  1. Select
    Resources
    ,
    Deploy
    .
The Deployment pane displays the Packages, Templates, and Jobs.
  2. In the Manage Resource pane, right-click the Jobs folder and select
    Create New Job
    .
  3. On the Jobs Setup page, enter a name in the Job Name pane and (optionally) select a template on which to base the job.
  4. Click
    Next
    .
  5. On the Package Selection page, select a platform and the packages to deploy.
  6. (Optional) Click the
    Details
    tab.
The Package Wrapper Details dialog opens so you can edit the package properties in-line. If the package wrappers are incomplete or invalid and the fields can be modified through in-line editing, complete these steps:
    1. Click
      Edit
and modify the package wrapper properties.
    2. Click
      Save
      , then click
      OK
      .
The package wrapper properties are updated.
  7. To add the package wrappers to the job, click the down arrow, then click
    Next
    .
  8. On the Machine Selection page, select the systems to which to deploy, then click
    Next
    .
If your environment contains many servers, multiple pages with some entries can be required to list all servers.
  9. On the Machines Selected page, click
    Set Credentials
, set the system credentials that are required to establish a connection, and click
    Next
    .
Deployment to Windows target systems using domain credentials must be in the form of DOMAIN\username.
  10. (Optional) On the Advanced page, set the distribution server to manage the deployment.
If you do not specify a distribution server,
    Server Automation
     selects one automatically.
  11. Select the scheduling options for the job:
    • Immediate Delivery
Starts the deployment job immediately after creating it. Immediate Delivery is the default.
    • Staggered Delivery
Delivers the packages during a specific interval.
    • Scheduled Delivery
Schedules the deployment for a specific future time.
  12. (Optional) If a package was previously successfully deployed to a system using this deployment infrastructure, you can force it to run again.
  13. Click
    Next
    .
  14. On the Summary page, review the details of the job, then click
    Deploy
    .
    The deployment job is created.
You can save the job as a template after you create it. A template saves the package and machine selections so you can easily reuse them for subsequent jobs.
