Manage the Package Wrapper

Package wrappers define a set of platform-specific installation settings for a deployment package to follow when deploying a specific package.  Package wrappers can include settings such as the installation path, port, and trap communities. Each package contains a default package wrapper for all platforms that support remote deployment.

Follow these steps to access the Package Wrapper page:
  1. Select
    Resources
    ,
    Deploy
    .
  2. On the
    Deployment
    pane, expand
    Packages
    .
    The Deployment pane displays a list of available packages.
Follow these steps to create a new package wrapper:
If specific systems require settings that differ from the default, you can create new package wrappers.
  1. Right-click a package name in the Deployment pane and select
    Create New Wrapper
    .
  2. On the
    New Wrapper
    dialog, enter a name and (optionally) a description, specify which platform the wrapper supports, and click
    OK
    .
    The wrapper is created, and the right pane displays the details.
    If you create a 
    CA SystemEDGE
     package wrapper, consider the Trap Port, Trap Destination, and Trap Community field dependencys that either all or none of these fields must be set. If the setting is partial, the installer displays an error.
Follow these steps to modify a package wrapper:
You can edit a user-created or default package wrapper to change the installation settings. The available properties vary by the package type.
  1. Expand
    Packages
    , the specific package type, and the wrapper platform, then select the wrapper to modify.
    The right pane displays the wrapper details.
  2. Change the package properties as necessary, then click
    Save
    .
    The options that are displayed in the Properties pane depend on the package type that you select.
Follow these steps to copy a package wrapper:
  1. Expand
    Packages
    , the specific package type, and the platform.
  2. Select the wrapper.
  3. In the right pane, right-click a wrapper and select
    Copy
    .
  4. On the
    Copy
    dialog, enter a new name and (optionally) a description for the package wrapper, then click
    OK
    .
    The deployment pane displays the new package wrapper.
  5. Edit the properties according to your requirements, then click
    Save
    .
    The left pane displays the new package wrapper.
Follow these steps to delete a package wrapper:
  1. Expand
    Packages
    , the specific package type, and the platform.
  2. Select the wrapper to delete.
    The right pane displays the wrapper details.
  3. In the right pane, right-click a wrapper and select
    Delete
    .
  4. On the confirmation message, click
    Yes
    .
    The package wrapper is deleted.
Follow these steps to rename a package wrapper:
  1. Expand
    Packages
    , the specific package type, and the platform.
  2. Select the wrapper.
  3. In the right pane, right-click a wrapper and select
    Rename
    .
  4. In the
    Rename
    dialog, enter a new name and click
    OK
    .
    The package wrapper name is changed.
