(Optional) Manage the Base Policy and Templates

Manage the templates and the base policy for one or more servers. You can replace the current base policy, add templates, or remove templates.

Manage the templates and the base policy for one or more servers. You can replace the current base policy, add templates, or remove templates.
Follow these steps to manage a server:
  1. Click the
    Resources
    tab, open the
    Explore
    pane, and select the server where you want to change the policy configuration.
  2. On the
    Resources
    page, select
    Monitoring Software
    ,
    Policies
    .
    The table displays the list of policies and templates that are applied to the server.
  3. To replace the current base policy for the server with another available base policy, click Pen icon (Modify Policy).
  4. On the
    Modify Policy
    dialog, select an appropriate policy, then click
    Apply
    .
    Server Automation
    applies the new base policy to the selected server. The policy status changes from
    Delivery Requested, Delivered
    to
    Configured
    .
  5. To add or remove templates from the configuration of the selected server, click Plus Icon (Modify Template).
  6. On the
    Modify Templates
    dialog, select the templates to add or remove, use the arrows to make your assignments, and click
    Apply
    .
    The application applies the new templates to the configuration. The template statuses change from
    Delivery Requested, Delivered
    to
    Configured
    .
    The new configuration is applied.
Follow these steps to manage multiple servers as a group:
  1. Create a service at the data center level that specifies the group of servers.
    The
    Explore
    pane displays the new service.
  2. Select the service.
  3. On the service page, select
    Monitoring Software
    ,
    Policies
    .
    The table displays the list of policies and templates that are applied to the servers.
  4. To replace the current base policy for the server with another available base policy, click Pen icon (Modify Policy).
  5. On the
    Modify Policy
    dialog, select an appropriate policy, then click
    Apply
    .
    The application applies the new base policy to the selected server. The policy status changes from
    Delivery Requested, Delivered
    to
    Configured
    .
