(Optional) Reindex Monitors

You can reindex the monitors on the Threshold, Process, Log File, Windows Event, History, and Process Group tabs. Reindexing assigns a sequential value to the existing index.

You can reindex the monitors on the Threshold, Process, Log File, Windows Event, History, and Process Group tabs. Reindexing assigns a sequential value to the existing index.
After you reindex the monitors, the functionality ensures that future indexes start at the next logical base index.
Follow these steps:
  1. Click the
    Resources
    tab, open the
    Configure
    pane, and expand
    Monitoring Templates or Policies
    .
  2. From the Templates List or Available Policies page, click the template or policy name.
  3. On the Summary page, click the
    Monitors
    tab.
  4. On the Summary page, click the appropriate monitor tab, click
    Action
    , and select
    Reindex
    .
  5. On the new base index dialog, enter a numeric value for the base index.
    To make the existing indexes sequential, select
    Make indexes contiguous
    .
    Example:
    1001, 1002, 1003, 1004
    If you do not select this option, 
    Server Automation
    keeps the gaps between indexes.
    Example:
    1001, 1010, 1020, 1030
  6. Click
    OK
    .
    The monitors are reindexed.
