Create a Threshold Monitor

- Click the Resources tab, open the Configure pane, expand Policies, and clickCA SystemEDGE.
- From the table on the Available Policies page, select the policy.
- On the Summary page for the policy, click Monitors.The Summary page lists the monitors that the policy manages.
- Click Threshold.
- On the Threshold Monitors page toolbar, click + (New).
- On the Threshold Monitor Details: New dialog, configure the following threshold settings:
- IndexDefines the table index to use.
- PlatformSpecifies the platform.
- Description(Optional) Defines a description of the monitor.
- Object ClassSpecifies the object class to monitor. The values in the drop-down list refer to the available MIB tables.
- Object Class NameDefines the object class name to use for the object state model. Object Class Name is an arbitrary string (for example, FileSystems).
- Object AttributeSpecifies the object attribute to monitor. The values in the drop-down list refer to the available attributes of the table that is specified in the Object Class field. The attribute (for example, devCapacity = 1.3.6.1.4.1.546.1.1.1.7.1.14) specifies the initial part of the MIB object (OID) to monitor with this threshold monitor.
- Object Attribute NameDefines the object attribute name to use for the object state model. Object Attribute Name is an arbitrary string (for example, PercentUsed).
- Object InstanceDefines the object instance to monitor. This value (for example, .3 to monitor the third row in the device tabledevTable) specifies the index part of the MIB object (OID) to monitor. For some object classes, you can use the name of the instance itself (for example, C: instead of .3, or /var for a Unix machine).
- Object Instance NameDefines the object instance name to use for the object state model. Object Instance Name is an arbitrary string (for example, SysVol_C).
- IntervalDefines the evaluation interval for the monitor in a multiple of 30 seconds.
- SeveritySpecifies the severity to use for the object state model.
- OperatorSpecifies the operator to use.
- ValueDefines the value to use.
- Sample TypeSpecifies the sample type to use.
- StateSpecifies whether the monitor maintenance entry is active or inactive.
- Start TimeDefines the start time when the monitor is switched off and the maintenance window begins.
- Stop TimeDefines the stop time when the monitor is switched on and the maintenance window ends.
The Optional Settings subtab lets you define the flags that you can use for the various monitor entries or history control entries. - Click SaveThe Threshold Monitor settings are saved.
- Click Save Policy.The Threshold Monitor is loaded to the Policy.
