The Build Partition section contains the following fields:
- HMC/IVM NameSpecifies the HMC/IVM that is associated with the managed server where the selected partition resides.
- System NameSpecifies the name of the data center in IBM LPAR where the virtual machine resides. Select one from the drop-down list.
- Partition NameDefines the name of the partition for image creation. You can use automatically generated text or text extracted from event messages.
- Profile NameDefines the name of an existing profile for the selected LPAR.
The Memory Settings section contains the following fields:
- Installed MemoryIdentifies installed memory.
- Available MemoryIdentifies installed memory.
- MinimumSpecifies the minimum memory.
- DesiredSpecifies the desired memory.
- MaximumSpecifies the maximum memory.
- Require ApprovalSelect to specify that the ticket requires approval by a third party.CA SDMmust be configured to use this option.
- Auto close ticket on approval/rejectionSelect to close the ticket after it is approved or rejected.CA SDMmust be configured to use this option.
- Ticket TypesSelect a valid ticket type from the drop-down list. Depending on your configuration, valid types include:
- Default
- Incident
- Problem
- Request
CA SDMmust be configured to use this option.
- TemplatesSpecifies the template to use to create a ticket. Select a template from the drop-down list. Depending on the ticket type selected, the form is populated with corresponding values.CA SDMmust be configured to use this option.
The Processor section contains the following fields:
- Processing ModeSpecifies the processing mode.Select between the following options:
- Partial Processor Units (Shared)
- Entire Processors (Dedicated)
- Units AvailableIdentifies available processor units.
- MinimumSpecifies the minimum processor units.
- DesiredSpecifies the desired processor units.
- MaximumSpecifies the maximum processor units.
- I/O ComponentsSpecifies the I/O components that you want to associate with the LPAR.
- I/O PoolsLets you add, delete and modify the I/O pools.
- Maximum Virtual AdaptersDefines the maximum number of virtual adapters.
- Virtual AdaptersIdentifies the number of virtual adapters
- Virtual Serial AdaptersLets you add, delete and modify the virtual serial adapters.
- Virtual Ethernet AdaptersLets you add, delete and modify the virtual ethernet adapters.
- Virtual SCSI AdaptersLets you add, delete and modify the virtual SCSI adapters.
- NIM MasterDefines the computer where you set up and maintain your NIM environment. The NIM environment is a logical group of computers. Multiple NIM environments can be on the same TCP/IP network, but there can only be one active NIM master per environment.
- Machine Resource NameDefines the name of the target computer for NIM installations and update operations. Provisions a client computer and images it with an AIX operating system.
- Resource TypeSpecifies the resource type for assigning resources to a NIM client.
- Resource GroupDefines a logical grouping of resources used for assigning resources to a NIM client more quickly than an individual association.
- Individual ResourcesDefines the resource name used to create image.
- Base Operating System InstanceDefines a file that contains information for the Base Operating System (BOS) installation program.
- Licensed Program ProductsDefines the licensed program product files to use for an imaging request.
- Shared Product Object TreeDefines the shared product object tree to use for an imaging request.
- Resolve ConfigurationDefines a file that contains valid /etc/resolv.conf entries that define Domain Name Protocol name-server information for local resolver routines.
- First Boot ScriptDefines the name of the file to use to configure devices. The script is used when a NIM client is booting for the first time after the BOS installation process finishes.
- Post Install ScriptsDefines a comma-separated list of scripts to run post installation.
- Host NameIdentifies the name of the host computer.
- UsernameDefines the root user used for agent deployment.
- PasswordDefines the root user password used for agent deployment.
- Domain ManagerDefines the domain manager.
- Scalability ServerServes as the primary interface for the agent and distributes theCA Client Automationworkload across multiple hosts. Software delivery adapter supports multiple scalability servers for software distribution.
- TemplateLists the software package groups already created.
The imaging process starts on the LPAR and a confirmation message notifies you when the imaging job has completed successfully. When the imaging process is complete, the LPAR is properly discovered and classified.
