Using Spectrum Mobile

Spectrum Mobile lets you perform the following tasks with CA Spectrum alarms:
  • View the latest 100 alarms (for every polling interval).
  • Search CA Spectrum alarms by alarm title, and device name or IP address.
  • Filter CA Spectrum alarms based on severity (Critical, Major, and Minor).
  • Set the Polling Interval for Spectrum Mobile Application.
  • Assign, acknowledge, and clear alarms.
 
Before you launch Spectrum Mobile, connect your mobile device to your enterprise network through VPN or wi-fi. This enterprise network must be the one where the OneClick server runs. If your mobile is not connected to your enterprise network, Spectrum Mobile cannot connect to that OneClick server.
Launch Spectrum Mobile from your mobile device, and connect it to a OneClick server host.
Configure Spectrum Mobile
Once you launch Spectrum Mobile, you get the Login screen that prompts you to enter the details of a OneClick server to which you want Spectrum Mobile to connect:

Follow these steps:
  1. Launch Spectrum Mobile from your mobile device.
  2. Enter the OC Server Details.
    OC Server Details
    You are prompted to provide the following details of the OneClick server:
    host name or IP address of the OneClick server host
    Specifies the host name or IP address of the computer in your enterprise network that hosts the OneClick server.
    OneClick Port
    Specifies the OneClick port number through which Spectrum Mobile communicates with the OneClick server.
    Enable HTTPS
    Specifies whether you want Spectrum Mobile to use HTTPS for communication with the OneClick server or not. To enable HTTPS, toggle the corresponding button. By default, HTTPS is disabled.
  3. In the "Authentication Details" pane, enter your OneClick username and password.
          Authentication Details
                  You are prompted to enter your OneClick username and password.
  4. Select the"Remember Password" check box, if you want Spectrum mobile to remember your OneClick credentials.
  5. Touch the "Connect" button.
Spectrum Mobile is successfully connected to the OneClick server. You can now view, search, filter CA Spectrum alarms and perform other actions on them.
Manage CA Spectrum Alarms
Once Spectrum Mobile successfully connects to the specified OneClick server, you can start managing CA Spectrum alarms. Spectrum mobile lets you manage alarms through the Alarms screen:

The Alarms screen lets you perform the following alarm management activities:
View Alarms
Once connected to the specified OneClick server, Spectrum mobile fetches the latest 100 alarms (Critical, Major, and Minor). The Alarms screen lists these latest 100 alarms.
This list of 100 alarms is grouped in the descending order of the date of occurrence of alarms. When you select an alarm from the list, the "Alarm Detail" screen displays the following details:
    • Alarm Source details (Device Name and IP Address, and Landscape).
    • Alarm Property details (Alarm Severity, Title, Assigned, cleared, and acknowledged).
Search Alarms
The Alarms screen lets you search alarms by alarm title, device name, device IP address.
Filter Alarms
The Alarms screen lets you filter the latest 100 alarms by severity. You can sort Critical, Major, and Minor alarms from the list of 100 alarms. To get the Critical alarms sorted from the 100 alarms, touch the Critical button at the bottom of the "Alarms" screen.
Set Poll Interval
The  2320971.png (Settings) icon on the Alarms screen lets you set the polling interval (minutes) for Spectrum Mobile using the Auto Poll feature. Spectrum Mobile polls the OneClick server for the latest 100 alarms every time after the specified polling interval. To manually refresh the alarms list, slide down the alarms list on the"Alarms" screen.
Acknowledge Alarms
When you select an alarm from the Alarms screen, you get the Alarm Detail screen which lets you acknowledge that alarm. On the "Alarm Detail" screen, touch the acknowledge button to acknowledge that alarm.
Assign Troubleshooter
When you select an alarm from the Alarms screen, you get the Alarm Detail screen which lets you assign a troubleshooter for that alarm.
Clear Alarms
When you select an alarm from the Alarms screen, you get the Alarm Detail screen which lets you clear that alarm.

Configure the Auto Poll Feature
The 2320971.png (Settings) icon on the Alarms screens lets you configure the Auto Poll feature. The Settings icon launches the Settings screen. On the Settings screen when this feature is enabled, Spectrum Mobile polls the OneClick server for the latest 100 alarms after every 5, 10, or 15 minutes. By default, the Auto Poll feature is disabled.
  When the Auto Poll feature is disabled, you cannot set the Poll Interval. In this case, to get the latest 100 alarms manually slide the Alarms list on the Alarms screen. 
Follow these steps:
  1. Touch the 2320971.png icon from the Alarms or Alarm Detail screen.
  2. Toggle the Auto Poll button to enable the Auto Poll feature.
      If you only enable the Auto Poll feature, by default the Poll interval is set to 5 minutes.
  3. To increase the Poll Interval to 10 minutes or 15 minutes, set the time on the Poll Interval slider.
You have successfully configured the Auto Poll feature.
Acknowledge an Alarm
The Alarm Detail screen lets you acknowledge an alarm. Once you acknowledge an alarm, it is updated in the Alarm Properties information in the Alarm Detail screen and in the CA Spectrum database.
Follow these steps:
  1. Select the required alarm from the list in the Alarm screen.
  2. To acknowledge the alarm, touch the 2320974.png (acknowledge) button at the bottom of the screen.
    The "Confirm!!!" dialog appears.
  3. Touch Yes.
You have successfully acknowledged an alarm.
Assign an Alarm to a Troubleshooter
The Alarm Detail screen lets you assign an alarm to a troubleshooter. Ensure that you have configured a list of troubleshooters in the OneClick.

Follow these steps:
  1. Select the required alarm from the Alarms screen.
  2. To assign the alarm to a troubleshooter, touch the   ("Assign") button at the bottom of the screen.
    The Trouble Shooter dialog appears.
  3. Select a troubleshooter from the list that is displayed.
  4. Touch the Assign button.
You have successfully assigned the alarm to a troubleshooter for a resolution.
You can unassign only the assigned alarms to a troubleshooter. To unassign, follow the same steps.
Clear an Alarm
The Alarm Detail screen lets you clear an Alarm. The alarm is cleared from OneClick server and from CA Spectrum database.
Follow these steps:
  1. Select the required alarm from the list in the Alarms screen.
  2. To clear the alarm, touch the 2320972.png ("delete") button at the bottom of the screen.
    The "Confirm!!!" dialog appears
  3. Touch Yes.
You have successfully cleared an alarm from CA Spectrum database. The list of alarms is refreshed.
Log Out
Log out Spectrum Mobile to disconnect it from the OneClick server.

Follow these steps:
  1. From the Alarms or Alarm Detail screen, touch the 2320971.png (Settings) icon.
  2. Touch the "Logout" button.
Spectrum Mobile Logs out of the OneClick server.
