 10.1.2 Features
Overview:

This release includes the following new features:
CA Spectrum and CA UIM Bidirectional Integration
This release enables Bidirectional integration between CA Spectrum 10.1.2 and CA UIM 8.47 using the spectrumgtw probe v8.4.7.
The  probe provides a Bidirectional (CA UIM to CA Spectrum and CA Spectrum to CA UIM) integration between CA Unified Infrastructure Management and CA Spectrum enabling you to perform the following actions:
  • Export and correlate CA Spectrum Inventory from a Global Collection to CA UIM inventory.
  • Select Unidirectional/ Bidirectional synchronization of alarms (UIM to Spectrum, Spectrum to UIM, Bidirectional.)
  • Bidirectional Clear / Update of alarms
  • View symptomatic CA Spectrum alarms in the context for the root-cause alarm in CA UIM
  • Bidirectional Ticket ID synchronization
From the Spectrum v10.1.2 release, the SNMP Gateway probe and SBGW / Southbound gateway are no longer recommended for alarms synchronization from CA UIM to CA Spectrum. It is recommended to use the Spectrum Gateway (spectrumgtw) probe for alarm synchronization from this release..
For more information refer to the following CA Spectrum - CA UIM Integration Compatibility Matrix:

CA Spectrum
 10.1.2 Enhancements
This release includes the following enhancements:
Out of box solution for managing VM as a server
You no longer need to deploy the
vmware
probe to synchronize VMware inventory. If VMs are being monitored in CA UIM it can be pulled into CA Spectrum for Server management.
The vmware probe allows you to monitor standalone ESX Host Servers and it's corresponding hierarchy in a CA UIM context. CA Spectrum, however, identifies and monitors only VCenters and the subsequent hierarchy, which were being monitored by vmware probe directly, but does not identify and display standalone ESX Servers' hierarchy.
Delete Unreported Entities in CA Spectrum
Reduces churn caused because of deletion during synchronization, and provides the ability to delete unreported entities from CA UIM. The entities/ models that were previously reported only as part of virtualization integration and were auto-deleted will be placed in the Unreported Entities/ Models container, if they are no longer reported. See Delete Unreported Entities
Spectrum Fault Tolerant Scenarios
Back-end changes have been made to CA Spectrum to prevent modeling new entities, reported by CA UIM, in a particular SpectroSERVER if it is a Secondary SpectroSERVER. However, updating the models and their relationships will still be done in secondary SpectroSERVER.
Logging Improvements
Improved the OneClick Server logging for Spectrum-UIM integration to give insights into what has been modeled and what was not, movement of VMs across different ESX hosts, relationship additions and deletions etc.
Reconciliation Enhancements
Till now CA Spectrum used to reconcile entities like Vcenters, VMs and Hosts. From this release onwards, CA Spectrum will be able to reconcile logical entities like Datacenters, Clusters and Resource Pools with existing models of corresponding entity types if they were modeled previously to prevent duplication in error scenarios.
CA Spectrum will now reconcile ESX hosts with existing ESX Hosts or UIMHostServer models only. If an ESX host is reconciled with a UIMHostServer model then the existing UIMHostServer modeled will be deleted and  a new ESX model will be created for that ESX host. This newly created model will be part of both Virtualization and Server hierarchies.
CA Spectrum
 10.1.1 Features
This release includes the following new features:
Support for Software Defined Networks (SDN)
This release introduces support for Software Defined Networks using CA Virtual Network Assurance. This feature enables you to discover and model Virtual Infrastructure, devices and services in CA Spectrum. You can see how the virtual infrastructure is connected to physical ones and visualize dynamic networking resources with the topology view. In CA Spectrum, these new abstracted resources can be monitored and managed in the same way as their static networking counterparts. For more information, see CA Spectrum and CA Virtual Network Assurance (CA VNA).

CABI JasperReports Server
This release supports CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server 6.1.0 to integrate, analyze, and present the vital information through various reporting options that are required for an effective enterprise IT management. CA Business Intelligence JasperReports Server is a high-performance standalone and embedded Business Intelligence (BI) platform. CABI JasperReports Server installation runs independently and enables other CA products to share Business Intelligence services. You can activate the integration between CABI JasperReports Server and Spectrum Report Manager after installing CABI JasperReports Server on your system. For more information, see CABI(JasperReports Server).
  • Currently you can install JasperReports Server on Windows computer only and it supports only English language.

CA Spectrum and CA UIM bidirectional integration
This release enables bidirectional integraton with CA UIM. The integration allows to you to export and correlate CA Spectrum inventory from a Global Collection to CA UIM. It also synchronizes alarms and allows to update/clear either way. In addition you can also view symptomatic CA Spectrum alarms in the context for the root-cause alarm in CA UIM. You can use the same console for managing their networks as well as systems. This integration enables synchronization of data across both consoles and drive fault, performance, alarm management from either tool. You can enable bidirectional integration between CA Spectrum 10.1.1 and CA UIM 8.4 using the
spectrumgtw
 probe v8.4.0.
