CA UIM Mobile is a mobile application for Android and iOS devices that allows you to view and manage alarms.
CA Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile provides the following features:
  • View and manage alarms for the groups of computer systems that are configured in the Unified Service Manager (USM) portlet.
  • Drill-down into detailed views of members.
  • View and manage alarms for devices that are not members of groups in USM.
  • Sort alarms by time, severity, hostname, hub, or subsystem.
  • Accept, assign, or acknowledge alarms.

Prerequisites
The following items are prerequisites for installing and using Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile:
  • You have compatible Unified Infrastructure Management and UMP installations with the mobile web services component deployed. Refer to the Support Compatibility Matrix.
  • Your mobile device has a supported Android or iOS version.
  • Groups and monitoring have been configured in the USM portlet in UMP. For more information about USM, see The Unified Service Manager Portlet.
  • You have a valid UMP user name and password.
  • You have sufficient permissions set in the Access Control List (ACL).
Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile Access
To access Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile, you must have the ACL permissions 
USM Basic
 or 
Basic Management
. Otherwise, you will see a "Permission Denied" message when you try to log in.
To act on alarms, you must have the ACL permissions 
Acknowledge
Accept

Assign, 
which are configured in the Account Admin portlet in UMP.
Installing Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile
Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile software is installed with UMP and downloaded to your mobile device.
Download and install Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile from the Google Play Store (Android) or from the App Store (iOS).
When the installation is finished, you can log in to Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile using your UMP user name and password.
Using Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile
Logging In
When you launch Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile, the login screen appears.
 
Follow these steps:
 
  1. Enter the host name or IP address of the UMP server and the port number to use (<
    UMP_server
    >:<
    port_number
    >).
    To log in using HTTPS, specify the HTTPS port after the host name or IP address (<
    UMP_server
    >:443), and tap the HTTPS checkmark.
  2. Enter your UMP user name and password.
  3. Click 
    Login
    .
    The default Groups and Alarms landing page loads on the mobile device.
Receiving Notifications Outside of the Application
You can receive alarm notifications when you are logged out of Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile. From the login screen, select the down arrow in the 
Notification
 field, and select one of the following alarm severity levels: 
  • Critical
  • Major
  • Minor
  • Warning
  • Informational
     
  • Clear - Indicates that a component has returned to a normal state.
The notifications you receive include the severity level you select and higher. For example, if you select 
Minor
, you receive notifications for 
Minor
Major,
 and 
Critical
 alarms. 
Select 
Off
 if you do not want to receive alarm notifications outside of the application. 
Using an HTTPS Connection
To use an HTTPS connection with Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile, HTTPS must be enabled in the wasp probe configuration. After you enable HTTPS, Unified Infrastructure Management Mobile is still accessible through  HTTP unless you configure automatic HTTP-to-HTTPS redirect.
For high-security environments, it is recommended that you use an authority-issued certificate. See Configure HTTPS in Admin Console or UMP.
Viewing Groups and Members
The default landing page displays the groups of computer systems in the USM portlet in UMP.
The severity icon to the left of each group indicates the most severe alarm status of a member of the group.
If a group has at least one member, you can tap the group to drill down to a list of members of the group. Tap a member to drill down to details about the member.
Viewing Alarms
By default, alarms are sorted by Time, but you can also sort on the following criteria:
  • Severity
  • Hostname
     Systems without hostnames are listed by IP address and displayed before systems with hostnames.
  • Hub
  • Subsystem
Tap the information button (Information Button Icon) to view details about the alarm.
Managing Alarms
Tap an alarm to select the alarm. Tap the alarm again to de-select the alarm. You can perform bulk alarm actions by tapping multiple alarms.
When you tap an alarm, the following buttons appear at the bottom of the page:
  •  Acknowledge Icon (acknowledge)
  •  Accept Icon (accept)
  •  Assign Icon (assign)
When you acknowledge or accept an alarm, a dialog prompts you to confirm the action. When you assign an alarm, you are prompted to select a user.
When you view the details of an alarm, the alarm annotation button (Alarm Annotation Button Icon) is also displayed. Tap the alarm annotation button to view or add annotations. Each annotation is time-stamped and tagged for the user, and previous annotations cannot be edited or deleted. Annotations are automatically added when alarm ownership changes.
When you view a group or system that is in maintenance mode, the wrench icon (Wrench Icon ) is displayed instead of a severity icon.
