CA OPS/MVS® Event Management and Automation
 (
CA OPS/MVS
)
Version 14.0
.
Interface to CA Network Systems Manager (NSM) and its CCS Event Managment (EM) Component
The CA OPS/MVS Unix System Services (USS) interface to CCS EM has been removed. For instructions on how to install the following replacement features, see Install the UNIX System Services:
  • WTO, WTOR, REPLY, and DOM events can be routed to the CA Unified Event Manager (UIM) using ADDRESS USS UIMEVENT.
  • The USS Syslogd Server forwards USS Syslog deamon messages to
    CA OPS/MVS
as USS events. AOF USS rules can be written to process these messages. A sample z/OS PROC and USS environmental variable file can be tailored to your needs.
OPSHMC REXX Program
The OPSHMC REXX progam that interfaces with the IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC) has been removed. Its functionality is replaced by the Hardware Services (HWS) component of CA OPS/MVS.
OPS/REXX ADDRESS Netman Host Environment
CA OPS/MVS no longer interfaces with CA Netman directly. The OPS/REXX ADDRESS NETMAN host environment has been removed.
Pre-12.2 OPSLOG Archive Method and APM
The pre-12.2 OPSLOG archive method that uses program OPARLGCR has been removed. This archive method was the only CA OPS/MVS feature that used the CA OPS/MVS Application Parameter Manager (APM). As such, the APM has also been removed. For information about the supported OPSLOG archive method, see Archiving and Merging OPSLOG Data. Sample JCL in the ARCHCRTE member of the installed
hlq
.CCLXCNTL data set for creating an archive manually has also been updated.
Integration with CCS Linux Connector
CA OPS/MVS no longer supports integration with the CA Common Services (CCS) Linux Connector component. The CA OPS/MVS Linux Connector Interface (LCX) and the OPS/REXX ADDRESS LXCON host environment have been removed. For information about a sample application that demonstrates how to route messages from z/Linux guest systems running under z/VM to z/OS so that CA OPS/MVS can continue to perform cross-system automation, see Integrating with z/VM Systems.
Automate Rules Translator
OPSVIEW Option A: Access the AutoMate Rules Translator has been removed.
CA OPS/MVS WebCenter
OPSVIEW Option 4.14: Access WebCenter Control Panel has been removed. This functionality is replaced by the CA OPS/MVS Automation Point (AP) Alert Manager feature available at AP level 11.6.1.
CA OPS/MVS® Event Management and Automation
 (
CA OPS/MVS
) can be used to launch the AP Alert Manager.
HWS Support for CCS HISRV
The CA OPS/MVS Hardware Services (HWS) feature no longer supports integration with the CA Common Services (CCS) Hardware Interface Service (HISRV) component. HWS now uses the CA OPS/MVS BCPii (OPSBCPII) Server exclusively.
