Global Resource Sharing

Review this topic for global resource sharing requirements.

When using a global resource sharing product like
MIM
, you might need to identify the ENQ QNAMES by product to the global resource sharing product. If
MIM
is used to ensure cross-system integrity of objects across all members of the sysplex, enable the QNAME CADB2 to propagate cross-system enqueues. If IBM Global Resource Serialization (GRS) is used instead, no further action is required.
To ensure proper cross-system serialization in a shared DASD environment, the
Database Management Solutions for Db2
can issue ENQs with a SYSTEMS scope. These ENQs must be propagated throughout the global resource sharing ring. If the SYSTEMS ENQs are not propagated by default, you must identify the QNAMES to the global resource sharing product. The QNAMES are listed below:
If you are using
MIM
with the MII PROCESS=SELECT parameter specified, you must identify the QNAMES by product to
MIM
.
