Syntax Conventions
Use the following command conventions when specifying your job syntax:
  • Enter uppercase characters as shown.
  • Lowercase italicized characters represent user-specified variables.
  • Default values are underlined.
  • The | character denotes an OR condition.
  • Required parameters appear in braces { }.
  • Optional parameters appear in brackets [ ].
Profile Options
If you receive syntax errors when submitting a utility job from a data set, even though all the parameters are correct, review the profile options for the data set member that contains the SYSIN statements. If your profile for the input data set has something unusual set, such as PACK ON, it can interfere with utility processing.
