CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
includes the number of encountered COMMENT and LABEL statements in the DDL Activity - Summary Report Comments field.

Support of ALTER SEQUENCE Statements in DDL Report (LU01043)
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
supports reporting on the ALTER SEQUENCE SQL statements.

New Option to Verify Environment (LU01039, LU01040, LU01053)
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
adds a new option to verify the PARMLIB values for their optimal settings.

New XML Column Data Panel Option in DML Reports (LU00940)
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
adds support for serialized XML record data in a readable format in the DML Detail Report.

Table Masking in DML Redo/Undo SQL Report (LU00759)
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
adds support for table masking in the DML Redo/Undo SQL report. You can now use creator and table name masks to quickly replace source system object names with corresponding target system object names in the generated DML SQL statements.

Support for Db2 V12R1M509 (LU00672)
Db2 12 function level and catalog level V12R1M509 support is now available.
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
is usable on Db2 12 subsystems with the function level activated and with an updated catalog (maintenance applied).
Enhanced Data Collection for Recover Statistics in Automated Dropped Object Recovery (LU00165)
The Automated Dropped Object Recovery (ADOR) feature for
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
can now recover Db2 statistics for implicitly created tablespaces, tables, and indexes.
Bypass the Extract File (LU00131, LU00132, LU00133)
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
adds a new parameter Create Extract File. Use this parameter to bypass the extract file and pass the data directly from the log extract process to the report generation process. Bypassing the extract file reduces EXCPs, reduces CPU time, and reduces elapsed time of the report generation process.

Alter KEYLABEL in DDL report (SO15220)
The DDL Report can now report changes that come from ALTER statements that modify the KEYLABEL values of Db2 tables and storage groups. ALTER statements that modify KEYLABEL values are introduced with IBM Db2 for z/OS function level V12R1M502.
Enhanced Data Collection For Recover Statistics in Automated Dropped Object Recovery (SO14865)
The Automated Dropped Object Recovery feature (ADOR) job now collects the recovered Db2 statistics data in the UNDODDL step. The extra step CLCSTATS that read the Db2 log has been removed from the ADOR job.
Support for Recovering Identity Column Sequence Values in Automated Dropped Object Recovery (SO14613)
The Automated Dropped Object Recovery (ADOR) feature for
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
can now recover the sequence of the identity column for a dropped object. If the object contains an identity column, ADOR will attempt to recover the identity column of the object to the value that was in use at the time of the drop.

Enhanced Automated Dropped Object Recovery (SO14137)
The following enhancements have been made to the Automated Dropped Object Recovery (ADOR) feature for
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
:
  • Taking an image copy after recovery is now optional. To take an image copy of the object after it is recovered, set the
    Image Copy After Recovery
    option to Y.
  • You can now take partition image copies by specifying the variable &PART in the
    Image Copy DSNAME
    option.
  • The ADOR job now returns 0 instead of 4 after the job successfully completes.
Support for Huffman Compression (SO14033)
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
supports Huffman data compression. You can now report Huffman encoded objects. Huffman data compression is introduced with IBM Db2 for z/OS function level V12R1M504.
Enhanced DDL Activity Report Parameters (SO12889)
The DDL Activity Report Parameters have been enhanced with an option to generate only GRANT/REVOKE statements or BIND/REBIND statements. The ONLY option enables you to generate reports that contain only BIND, REBIND, and FREE statements, or GRANT and REVOKE statements exclusively. For example use cases, see Generate Recover and Bind Statements for Freed Packages and Generate Grant and Revoke Statements for Access Control Privileges.
Enhanced Automated Dropped Object Recovery (SO11113, SO11114, SO11112)
The Automated Dropped Object Recovery feature has been enhanced with the following features:
  • Support for partition image copies and online image copies (SHRLEVEL CHANGE).
  • Ability to use the Consistent Point in Time service to apply log records to recovered table spaces directly. This significantly speeds up the recovery process.
  • Support for FlashCopy image copies and incremental image copies (IIC). Using IICs limits the range of log data to apply and results in the faster recovery of the object.

Use SYSIBM.SYSLGRNX Information to Limit Log Reading during the Initial Log Extraction Phase for DML Reporting (SO008870)
The parmlib option SYSLGRNX (Y) has been enhanced to limit log reading during the initial extraction phase for DML Reports in data sharing environments when INCLUDE filters are used on the following database objects:
  • Tables
  • Databases
Partial Update Reconstruction (SO08802, SO00803, SO08804)
Image Copy Merge has been renamed to Partial Update Reconstruction and modified with new features. The new parmlib parameter and keyword PURSRC (AFTER|BEFORE|AUTO) is introduced to specify the source of a full row image to reconstruct.
DB2 12 Continuous Delivery Support
IBM DB2 12 for z/OS function levels V12R1M100, V12R1M500, and V12R1M
nnn
are now supported.
Version 20.0 of CA Log Analyzer supports the IBM DB2 12 Continuous Delivery Model, which introduces new features in the maintenance stream for faster adoption.
Customers who are moving to DB2 12 should upgrade to Version 20.0 of CA Log Analyzer to take advantage of new DB2 12 features. In Version 19.0 of CA Log Analyzer, only DB2 12 function levels V12R1M100 and V12R1M500 are supported.

Enhanced Behavior of SHRLEVEL SKIP
The behavior of the parameter SHRLEVEL (S) in the PLA member of
hlq
.CDBAPARM has been enhanced to use the latest available image copy if possible. SHRLEVEL CHANGE image copies are now processed instead of skipped when all of the following conditions are met:
  • The image copy merge process is triggered by either a DML report that uses the IMAGCOPY level of detail or by a DDL report.
  • The PIT_RBA for the image copy in SYSIBM.SYSCOPY is lower than the log point of the first incomplete update within the same table space that the image copy was taken for.

Recall Archive Log Data Set in Parallel
You can now use the new parmlib option PRE_ALLOCATE (E,x) to use parallel tasks when recalling archive log data sets to reduce the elapsed time of your jobs. The parameter description has been updated in the PLA parmlib panel.
Pervasive Encryption Support
CA Log Analyzer™ for DB2 for z/OS
now supports IBM system z Pervasive Encryption.
Both the DML Activity and DDL Activity reports can include LOB column data. This option extracts the LOB data to a partitioned data set (PDS) as part of the report output, which is not supported by Pervasive Encryption.
Object List Manager Support for Selecting Objects Identified by Packages
The Object List Manager (OLM) utility now supports the base selection of objects by packages with
PACKAGE
collection.package.version

Eight-character User ID Support
8-byte TSO/E user IDs for z/OS 2.3 are now fully supported across all
CA Database Management Solutions for DB2 for z/OS
, including post-install processing.
FlashCopy Support
You can now use FlashCopy image copies for reporting purposes.
Dropped Object Tracking (DOT)
You can now report on dropped objects with the DML Activity Report. To report on dropped objects, use the DOT report to build the object repository, and add the
REPOSTRY (YES)
parameter to the DMLREPT control statement in your control card. Enhancements to this feature include:
  • Table Version Support
    DOT can now store to the repository different versions of the same table.
Custom DML Report Filter
You can now specify custom filters for the DML Activity report through the new Filter Expression Specification Panel.
Application Commits
You can now use your application commit frequency to place commits after each unit of recovery in the REDO and UNDO SQL output for the DML Activity Report. For more information, see DML Activity Report Options.
