NetSpy TCP/IP Interface
The
NetSpy
TCP/IP Interface records volume, performance, and reliability data that is derived from the Management Information Blocks (MIBs).rm
NetSpy
uses Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) interface to read the MIBs that are associated with the stack, and all the UDP, IF, TCP interfaces.Information can be collected for one or more TCP/IP servers. TCPIPMON=YES/NO controls the monitoring of TCP/IP stacks and SNMPHOST controls the logging of the TCP/IP related subtypes.
Information that is supplied by the
NetSpy
TCP/IP interface includes the following data types:TCP Connection (Subtype I)
Telnet data includes activity for each telnet session that is monitored during the installation defined interval. The information for telnet session includes bytes sent and received counts, retransmission counts, acknowledgements, roundtrip time, etc.
TCP/IP Stack (Subtype J)
TCP/IP stack data includes activity for each TCP/IP server that is monitored during the installation defined interval. The information for TCP/IP stack includes connection counts (active, passive, and failed), retransmission time, receive and send buffer sizes, etc.
