NPM Network Session Accounting Collection Function

The Tivoli NPM network session accounting function collects connect time and traffic statistics for terminal sessions.
rm
The Tivoli NPM network session accounting function collects this information from the NCP NPALU. NPM Network session accounting differs from NPM network collection (also derived from the NPALU) in the following major respects:
  • Network session accounting identifies sessions partners (i.e., PLU and SLU).
  • Network session traffic statistics are for LU sessions and never include line overhead, such as polling and retransmissions.
NPM writes network session accounting data to the SMF Type 28 record, subtypes '50'X, '51'X, and '52'X.
MICS
processes each of these subtypes.
