This section contains detailed descriptions of all CA SMF Director control statements and their operands. Control statements are listed in alphabetical order. Within each control statement, required operands are listed first, followed by optional operands.

This section contains detailed descriptions of all CA SMF Director control statements and their operands. Control statements are listed in alphabetical order. Within each control statement, required operands are listed first, followed by optional operands.
The following control statements allow you to conduct inventory functions and do selective processing on SMF data. Use the control statements to perform these functions:
  • ADDX
    Add index entries of SMF data.
  • Direct the input data for the Record Summary Report to a file. 
  • Start a series of configuration control statements.
  • Diagnostic tool that is used to display SCDS records in dump format.
  • Compile the configuration definition.
  • Removes configuration definitions.
  • Remove one index entry of SMF data at a time.
  • Empty the contents of one or more SMF files.
  • Define specifications for SMF history files for each system configuration and define any logstreams or substreams that contains data that CA SMF Director is to manage.
  • Modify the pool of tapes available for dumped SMF data.
  • End the configuration definition.
  • Copy SMF data to be processed by another application or product.
  • List configuration information for one or more SIDs.
  • List index information for SMF history files.
  • Define specifications for all systems.
  • Print SMF data.
  • Redefine the input source of data to be used in processing by CA SMF Director.
  • Write selected SMF records to more files so they are available for processing by other applications without an intermediate EXTRACT.
  • Set overrides for the DUMPOPTIONS for specific logstreams and substreams.
  • Switch the current dump tape.
  • Modify a range of index entries.
