SET STATS

The SET STATS control statement initializes the database, so that users can view the database statistics online, on the Database Status panel. The high-level name of the database must have been defined with the NAME control statement (or the PARM parameter of the EXEC JCL statement).

When you use the SET STATS control statement, stop all activity on the database, including all started tasks, for example: the

archival started task (SARSTC), functional sub-system collectors (SARFSS), systems extensions (SARXTD),
Deliver
Direct-to-View archival, batch jobs (SARBCH), and all user access and on-line tasks, such as SARXMS.
