Host Configuration
On the
Host Configuration
page, you can view a list of all of the hosts that you define at your site. You can also add, edit, delete, enable, or disable hosts.Item | Description |

Add | Launches a wizard that guides you through the process of adding a Scanner. |
Edit | Starts and stops services, configures proxy settings, sets SMTP parameters, defines internal mail hosts, sets DNS/Time, changes Ethernet settings, sets DDS binding, and operates the MTA. |
Delete | Deletes the selected Scanner. You cannot delete or disable the host on which the Control Center is running. |
Enable | Enables the selected Scanner. |
Disable | Disables the selected Scanner. You cannot delete or disable the host on which the Control Center is running. |
Hostname | Lists any attached Scanners, whether enabled or not. |
Description | User-definable description for the host. |
Enabled | Indicates with a checkmark whether a Scanner is currently enabled. |
IP Address | Displays the IP address of the attached Scanner. |
Version | Displays the version of Symantec Messaging Gateway software running on each host. |
Role | Indicates whether the listed host serves as a Scanner, Control Center, or both Scanner and Control Center. |
Wall ID | Displays the identification number of each Scanner/ Control Center. The Scanner/Control Center uses this number to obtain ruleset updates from Symantec. Symantec uses this number to associate telemetry data with the specific Scanner/Control Center. |
