Ethernet IPv6
On the IPv6
Ethernet
tab, you can view, add, edit, delete, and select either of the Ethernet interfaces. You can specify up to 256 IPv6 IP addresses and prefixes for each Ethernet interface. You can also add static routes. Ethernet connection parameter descriptions describes the Ethernet parameter settings that are available.
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Enable IPv6 | Lets you use IPv6 addressing for your Ethernet interfaces and SMTP configuration. When you enable this option, you can specify multiple IPv6 addresses to provision on Ethernet Interface 1 and Ethernet interface 2 (if Ethernet interface 2 is enabled). Note that IPv6 cannot be disabled if an IPv6 address is assigned to an MTA listener. |
Ethernet Interface 1 | |
IPv6:1 | Specifies the IP address of the Ethernet interface. Individual IPv6 addresses can be specified in any standard IPv6 format and are stored and displayed in shortened format. Ranges are expressed in CIDR notation as a combination of an address part and a prefix. Beside the IPv6 address, specify the prefix. For IPv6 the prefix value is restricted to an integer value of 64 or lower. |
Add | Lets you add an IPv6 address. You can add up to 256 IPv6 addresses per Ethernet interface. |
Delete | Lets you delete one or more IPv6 addresses. Check the box beside one or more virtual interfaces and click Delete to delete the interfaces that you selected. Or, check the box beside Description and click Delete to delete all virtual interfaces for this Ethernet interface. |
Ethernet Interface 2 | |
IPv6:2 | Specifies the IP address of the Ethernet interface. Individual IPv6 addresses can be specified in any standard IPv6 format and are stored and displayed in shortened format. Ranges are expressed in CIDR notation, as a combination of an address part and a prefix. Beside the IPv6 address, specify the address prefix. |
Routing | |
Default gateway | Address of a router to handle IP traffic between networks (required). Individual IPv6 addresses can be specified in any standard IPv6 format and are stored and displayed in shortened format. |
Static Routes | |
Destination address | Computer or network destination for a static route. Static routes direct data from one subnet to different subnet faster than dynamic routes. But static routes must be updated if addresses change. Individual IPv6 addresses can be specified in any standard IPv6 format and are stored and displayed in shortened format. |
Gateway address | Address of a router to use for a static route. Individual IPv6 addresses can be specified in any standard IPv6 format and are stored and displayed in shortened format. |
Interface | The appliance’s Ethernet port to use for a static route. |
Add | Adds a static route. |
Delete | Lets you delete one or more static routes. Check the box beside one or more static routes and click Delete to delete the routes that you selected. Or, check the box next to Destination address and click Delete to delete all static routes. |
Save | Saves your configuration changes. |
Cancel | Cancels your configuration changes. |
