Standalone Quarantine User Interface

Learn about the tasks and actions that you can perform after logging on to a Symantec Messaging Gateway standalone quarantine instance.
A standalone quarantine instance contains a subset of the user interface controls that are available in the Control Center. A standalone quarantine instance includes the following resources and manages the following tasks.
  • All of the quarantine settings are managed by controls in the quarantine instance's user interface.
  • All of the quarantined messages are stored in files and databases on the active standalone quarantine instance.
  • All of the quarantine folder settings are managed by the quarantine instance.
  • All of the messages that are stored in quarantine folders are located on the quarantine instance.
  • All end-user block and allow lists and language blocking settings are configured and stored on the active standalone instance.
  • Quarantine-related Message Audit Log (MAL) data is stored on the quarantine server, but MAL lookup is not available on the quarantine instance.
To manage the listed tasks and resources, a standalone quarantine instance's Control Center contains the following tabs:
Spam tab
Spam > Settings > Quarantine Settings > Quarantine
, and
Spam > Quarantine> Email Spam > Spam Message Quarantine
. The Spam tab on a standalone quarantine instance is identical to the Spam tab on a Control Center. You can perform all of the same tasks on the quarantine instance's Spam tab that you can perform on the Control Center's Spam tab.
Malware tab
Malware > Settings > Suspect Virus Settings > Quarantine Settings
, and
Malware > Quarantine > Email Suspect Virus > Suspect Virus Message Quarantine
(Delete, Delete All, Release, and Release All).
Content tab
Content > Quarantine Folders > Quarantine Incidents
(Incident Management, View, Delete, Delete All, Approve, Reject, Custom, This is Spam, This is Not Spam, Archive, Forward Incident).
Content > Quarantine Folders > Informational Incidents
(View, Delete, Delete All, Archive, Forward Incident).
Administration tab
The Administration tab on a standalone quarantine instance is identical to the Administration tab on a Control Center. You can perform all of the same administrative tasks on the quarantine instance's Administration tab that you can perform on the Control Center's Administration tab.
