Standalone Quarantine Workflow: Backup and Restore
Use the standalone quarantine functionality to back up and restore Symantec Messaging Gateway quarantine data.
Review the following high-level steps to familiarize yourself with the backup and restore workflow using standalone quarantine.
Backup and Restore
The following steps assume that you have configured a Control Center that has an active quarantine instance, and then added a remote quarantine instance that is inactive. A typical workflow for backup and restore is as follows.
- In the host Control Center, navigate toAdministration > Hosts > Configuration > Host Configuration.
- From theHost rolelist, selectQuarantine, and then clickAdd.
- Follow the steps in theAdd Scanner/Quarantine Server Wizardto add a new standalone (remote) quarantine instance. Ensure that theQuarantine Statusfor this new instance isInactive.
- From the list of hosts on theAdministration > Hosts > Configuration > Host Configurationpage, select the Control Center's active quarantine, and then clickDeactivate.
- Navigate toAdministration > Hosts > Versionand perform a backup of the first (non-remote) quarantine instance. See Backup Now for more information about performing quarantine backups.
- On theAdministration > Hosts > Configuration > Host Configurationpage's list of hosts, select the remote quarantine server and clickActivate.
