Upgrading Unified Management Console from v6.6 to v6.6 MP1

You can upgrade your existing Unified Management Console (UMC) from v6.6 to v6.6 MP1 through LiveUpdate. Before you upgrade, you must have a working setup of UMC v6.6. To know how to deploy and configure UMC v6.6, see Deploying and configuring the Unified Management Console.
When the installation of v6.6 MP1 is in progress, UMC becomes unavailable until the installation is complete. The installation takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. You must refresh the page after the installation is complete to access the updated UMC.
  1. To upgrade UMC from v6.6 to v6.6 MP1
  2. Log on to UMC and go to
    Settings > LiveUpdate
    .
  3. On the
    Install
    page, select the LiveUpdate server or the LiveUpdate Administrator and click
    Check for Updates
    .
    If you are using LiveUpdate Administrator, you must first configure the LiveUpdate Administrator to use with UMC:
    • Add product
      Symantec Data Center Security: Unified Management Console
      and version
      6.6
      in the LiveUpdate Administrator.
    • Add the LiveUpdate Administrator details in UMC LiveUpdate Server settings.
  4. On the
    Available LiveUpdate
    box, click
    Download
    .
    Wait for the downloads to complete.
  5. On the
    Install
    page, select the hotfix update and click
    Install
    .
  6. After the hotfix update is installed, select the v6.6 MP1 update and click
    Install
    .
    Wait for approximately 20 minutes for the installation to complete. After the installation is complete, refresh the page to access the updated UMC.
    When the installation is going on and UMC is unavailable, you can see the real-time logs by logging on to the UMC console using SSH. For more information, see Checking the UMC update installation status.
  7. Verify the status of the updates. For a successful installation, the status of the update is
    Installed
    .
    If the status is
    Failed
    , retry the upgrade process. You can also download and see the detailed UMC logs from the
    Monitor > Log Management
    page of UMC.
