Configuring SEPM group inclusions

Select the
SEPM
groups that you want to enroll and manage through the
EDR appliance console
Symantec EDR
applies
SEP Policies
and
Private Cloud policies
to these stand-alone independent groups and their inheriting subgroups. 
Important information about SEPM group inclusions
  1. Do one of the following:
    Initially setting up
    SEPM
    connection using the setup wizard
    Proceed to step 2.
    Modifying an existing
    SEPM
    connection
    1. Click
      Settings > Global
      .
    2. Scroll down to
      Endpoint Communications Channel, SEP Policies, and Endpoint Activity Recorder
      .
    3. Click the actions menu (three vertical dots) to the far right of the
      SEPM
      connection that you want to update.
    4. Click
      SEPM Group Inclusions
      .
  2. Click
    Include inherited subgroups automatically
    for
    Symantec EDR
    to automatically detect when inherited groups are added, deleted, or moved in SEPM. 
    For each
    SEPM
    Group
    , the number of inherited subgroups for each
    SEPM
    group appears in the
    Inherited Subgroups
    column.  Click on this number to view the list of inherited subgroups.
    When you enable this option, it also automatically applies to SEP policy exceptions.
    This option is enabled by default on fresh installations.
  3. Optionally, click
    Refresh SEPM Groups
    to obtain a real-time update of your
    SEPM
    group structure.
    Synchronization typically occurs hourly. Clicking this option lets
    Symantec EDR
    display the most current
    SEPM
    group structure. 
  4. Click
    Add group inclusions
    to select the SEPM groups that you want to enroll in ECC.
    Symantec EDR
    automatically discovers the available SEPM groups. A maximum of 1,000 groups appear.
  5. Do any of the following tasks:
    • Click on one or more groups that you want to enroll from the list.
      Tip: 
      Check the box beside
      SEPM Group
      to select all of the groups that appear.
    • If too many groups appear in the list, type at least four characters in the box to filter the list. The auto-complete feature populates the list with the groups that match the characters that you type.
      Tip:
        Check the box beside
      SEPM Group
      to select all of the groups that appear in the filtered list.
  6. Click
    Save Inclusions
    .
