About protecting your mobile devices
Symantec Endpoint Security lets you protect your mobile devices using a proactive Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) feature. It predicts, detects, and prevents mobile threats and attacks across all vectors on modern operating systems such as Android and iOS.
If you're an existing Symantec Endpoint Protection Mobile (SEP Mobile) customer, you can find more information in the SEP Mobile help.
The Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) feature protects and alerts your mobile devices from:
- Suspicious network connection and content threats
- Malicious apps
- Indicators of compromise and risky configurations
The mobile protection feature automatically activates protection actions to mitigate existing and potential attacks while maintaining a seamless user experience. For example, Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) feature activates a secure connection if the device connects to a malicious network that might expose, steal, or manipulate private data.
The users can download the Symantec Endpoint Security Mobile application (SEP Mobile app) from the official stores (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) and self-enroll their mobile devices. See:
Alternatively, the administrator can push the SEP Mobile app to the users from an MDM/EMM/UEM solution. See:
Once the application is installed and configured properly, the device becomes eligible to receive Symantec's mobile threat protection. The SEP Mobile app runs seamlessly on the mobile device, identifies threats, and automatically protects it from malicious applications, hijacked WiFi networks, and operating system vulnerabilities.
