Uninstalling the Secure Connection features

You use one of the following uninstall procedures to remove the Secure Connection features. Uninstalling only these features leaves the Symantec Agent components running.
If you plan to uninstall the Symantec Agent, you can run the command
/uninstall
.
You can uninstall the Secure Connection features using Microsoft Installer (MSI) commands at the command line interface. You can use either PowerShell or a command prompt to uninstall the agent.
To uninstall using PowerShell
  1. Open a PowerShell window as administrator.
  2. Run the following command:
    (Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Product -Filter "Name='AgentInstall-x64_vv_u'" -ComputerName . ).Uninstall()
    For the name value, replace
    vv_u
    with the agent version you plan to uninstall. For example, enter
    AgentInstall-x64_15_6
    to uninstall a version 15.6 agent. A successful uninstall returns a message that ends with
    "ReturnValue: 0"
  1. To uninstall using a command prompt
  2. Log on to the computer with administrator rights.
  3. Find the uninstallation product key as follows:
    • Click
      Start > Run
      .
    • Enter
      regedit
      to open the Registry Editor.
    • Navigate to
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
      .
    • Browse the
      Uninstall
      subkeys in the left-hand pane, and use the right-hand pane to find a value for the
      DisplayName
      that equals
      AgentInstall-x64_
      vv_u
      .
      For the
      DisplayName
      , locate the agent version you plan to uninstall. For example, locate
      AgentInstall-x64_15_6
      to uninstall a version 15.6 agent.
    • Copy the uninstallation key, and then close the
      Registry Editor
      .
  4. Click
    Start > Run
    .
  5. Enter
    cmd
    to open the command prompt.
  6. Enter the following in the command prompt:
    msiexec /X
    [product uninstall key]
    Replace
    [product uninstall key]
    with the uninstallation key.
    You can generate a detailed uninstallation log by entering the following:
    msiexec /x [product uninstall key] /lv!* c:\uninstallDLP.txt
