Setting Up Custom Hierarchy Replication
You can set up custom hierarchy replication for configuration and management items and security roles and privileges.
The current Item Replication report that you can access from the Configuration and Management Items panel lists all the items that have been enabled for replication using Custom hierarchy replication. When the selected items are replicated, any dependent items that have not been enabled are included automatically. These items do not appear on the Item Replication report. To see a list of all the items that were replicated, you need to view the Objects Replicated report.
This task is a step in the process for implementing Notification Server hierarchy.
- To set up custom hierarchy replication
- In the Symantec Management Console, on theSettingsmenu, clickNotification Server > Hierarchy.
- On theHierarchy Managementpage, on theReplicationtab, do the following:Set up custom hierarchy replication for configuration and management items.
- In theConfiguration and Management Itemspanel, clickCustom.
- ClickSave changes.
- In the Symantec Management Console, in the left pane, right-click on the folder or item that you want to replicate, and then clickHierarchy > Enable Replication.
- If you have selected a folder, in theInherited Replication Behaviordialog, specify whether to include the folder contents in the replication.ClickYes, to include all of the folder contents.ClickNo, to replicate only the folder with no contents.If necessary, you can manually enable or disable particular subfolders later.
Set up custom hierarchy replication for security roles and privileges.- UnderSecurity, clickCustom.
- ClickSelect security roles and privileges.
- In theSelect Security Roles and Privilegeswindow, select the roles and privileges that you want to replicate.
- ClickOK.
- ClickSave changes.
