Option | Description |
|---|---|
Name This option is not labeled. It appears in the upper left of the software resource page. In a new software resource, Untitled appears in a box that you can click to edit. | Identifies this software resource in any list of software resources. When you import a package, the software resource’s name is obtained from the installation file. If a specific name is not available, the installation file name appears. Make the name descriptive enough for others to easily identify this software. Change this name if it does not follow your organization’s standards for naming software resources. For example, many EXE installation files are named Setup.exe, which does not provide sufficient identification. We recommend that you use the software’s common name along with its version and other information if necessary. For example, Symantec AntiVirus 10.2.0.298 - English. |
Description This option is not labeled. It appears in the upper left of the software resource page. In a new software resource, Add description appears in a box that you can click to edit. | Lets you type a description to further identify this software resource and make it more recognizable. Do not include critical information in the description because it is not intended to appear in all the lists that contain the name. |
