Modifying the port and the communication properties of a server

You can change the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) port if you use the default port (8081). You can change the TCP after the server is added to Management Control. If you change the port number, use a number that is not in use by another program or service.
You can also specify whether to use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for communication between the console and a server.
  1. To modify the port and the communication properties of a server
  2. In the console on the toolbar, click
    Assets
    .
  3. In the
    Asset Management
    window, under
    Assets
    , select a server.
  4. In the sidebar under
    Tasks
    , click
    Server properties
    .
  5. In the
    Properties
    window, in the
    Port number
    box, type the new port number.
    The default port number is 8081.
  6. Check
    Use SSL
    to use SSL for communication between the console and server.
  7. Click
    OK
    , and then click
    Close
    .
