Configuring in-memory file scan cache size in the Core server only mode

Symantec Protection Engine can decompose and scan the contents of container files in a memory, which eliminates the latency that is imposed by on-disk scanning. You can configure the maximum memory that Symantec Protection Engine consumes for decomposing and scanning the contents of container files.
  1. To configure in-memory file scan cache size
  2. Go to the Symantec Protection Engine installation directory.
  3. Run the following command to specify the in-memory file scan cache size:
    xmlmodifier -s //filtering/Container/InMemoryFileScanCacheSize/@value <value> filtering.xml
    Allowed values
    : 20 MB to 131072 MB
    Default value
    : 2048 MB
  4. Restart the Symantec Protection Engine service.
